About Campground

A39 site RV campground overlooks the Coosa River. Each site includes electric and water hook up, a grill, and concrete picnic table. There is a centrally located bath house, and a dump station positioned at the campground exit. A group tent site is available by reservation.

Directions

Take Exit 173 off I-65, just north of where I-85 joins I-65 in Montgomery. This is Alabama Highway 152. Follow 152 to the east, until you get to the exit for U.S. Highway 231. Take Highway 231 north towards Wetumpka. Go approximately 8 miles; look for the Key West Inn on the left and Super Walmart on the right, then a Wendy's, a Shoney's, and a FoodWorld shopping center on the right. At the shopping center there is a red light; turn left here onto Fort Toulouse Road, and go approximately 2.5 miles; Fort Toulouse is at the very end of the road

This is a great piece of history. I wasn't there during the reenactment that occurs in April so I'm told, but it sounds great. The Fort has bern restored really well. The cannons were absent though.

You are able to camp, they do have camping grounds/RV. This place is beautiful and quiet. I'm looking forward to participating in the reenactment next weekend! This place is full of history and absolutely beautiful ❤️

We love visiting the site, especially during Alabama Frontier Days in November. Friendly and knowledgeable staff make visits wonderful. It's a fantastic place for walks, birding, picnics, camping, and learning about Alabama's rich history.

Great place! Lots of activities for the public and also varied places for those who like to be alone and/or in nature. The staff is kind and helpful. They make you feel at home.
