About Campground

Overview

Isaac Creek Campground is located on Claiborne Lake in Alabama's southwest Hill Country.

The lake encompasses more than 60 miles of the Alabama River, and Isaac Creek has great appeal to sportsmen, birders, naturalists or those simply wanting to relax in the outdoors.

Recreation

The area's waterways offer anglers the opportunity to fish for largemouth bass, crappie, bluegill and catfish.

Boating and water sports are also a main draw to the lake, and a boat ramp is provided for easy water access.

The vast expanse of surrounding land allows for bow and shotgun hunting for game like whitetail deer, wild turkey and hog.

A boat ramp, dock, fish cleaning stations, basketball court, playground and picnic shelter offer countless recreation opportunities for visitors.

Natural Features

The campground is situated between Isaac Creek and Claiborne Lake, in a forest of hardwood and pine.

Great little campground. Nice sites. Hosts are great. Had decent enough cell signal to work. Only draw back was getting supplies is time consuming. Everything is at least half hour to an hour away. There is a local store that has food and some basic supplies. The trails were great to ebike. Really enjoyed the waterfall. Very disappointed we didn’t get to see the Eagles but there were lots of deer. Also big rig friendly which is great. We were in site 32. Plenty of room.

We lived at Isaac Creek in a Motorhome for six nights in February of 2022! :)

•Pros: We thoroughly enjoyed our stay & site (#33). Also loved the concrete surface. The staff was SUPER friendly - before and during our stay. We watched the Alabama River flow and rise at least 12 ft. From our site, which was exciting, but also a bit nerve-racking for us Texans -- but the staff calmed our nerves about how the river rises, the elevation levels, and assured us that our spot was safe from flooding. Laundry rooms were super convenient and fairly priced.

•Cons: The location itself was a bit far away from the stores we found ourselves looking for, but other than that, there are no cons for the park we can think of!

•Highlights: We called ahead of time to inquire whether or not we could have a couple of Amazon shipments sent there as we had been having trouble having packages delivered while we were traveling. They let us know this was perfectly fine and to just list our site number along with their address. Staff personally delivered our packages to our site! Thank you so much!

•Furbabies Review: There were plenty of dog-friendly neighbors and even a couple of dogs who call the park their home around, so Cookies (our dog) really enjoyed the company! :) Cream (our cat) enjoyed the views of the flowing river from inside the RV.

•Tips for Other Campers: There is one washing machine and dryer in each of the two bathhouses. They all work, but a couple requires extra 'finagling' with the quarter machine. Each load (washer and dryer) is $1.00 each

•Our recommendations to park: Please introduce recycling to your facility! The earth will thank you :)

Thank y'all for having us! We're off Livin' the Dream with Cookies & Cream. :)

This campground is basically 2 experiences. Part 1 in the woods, small sites some with water up to the trailer pad. And part 2 , The deluxe sites beautiful large 5th Wheel friendly sites with lots of green space overlooking the river.

This place is miles from anything if you want quiet. This is it.

We stayed in a 5th wheel for 3 nights. Oh yeah, when the wind stops, get out the bug spray.

It has been a few years since our last visit here, this time is disappointing.

Our site, as well as many other sites need gravel added to the picnic table areas. Doesn't look like the leaves have been cleaned up since last fall. The fire ring is full of ashes, the picnic table is filthy. Very disappointing conditions for such a beautiful location.
