White Caps was a fantastic location for our first family camping trip. Even though the weather didn't entirely cooperate, our stay was great. We tent camped on an upper site (UT5) for 3 nights in July. The site was really big and could easily accommodate two tents, maybe even three. It was a little closer to the road than we would have preferred, but that never really impacted our stay. The bathrooms at White Caps are nicer than some hotels. The camp store is really cute and has a great assortment of things you might need. Ice and firewood were reasonably priced, and it was nice to be able to buy beer on site. But the true defining characteristic of White Caps is the fact that it's literally across the street from Willoughby Lake, and it's the south side which is the most picturesque! You can cross the street from the campground and you're there! It's gorgeous. You should book some time here!

This is a great camp ground, run by what seems to be a very wholesome local family. The parents and kids all help running the place and they love to chat you up. The location is phenomenal, with views of Lake Willoughby across the street as well as the giant rock wall towering over the area (the pics don't do it justice). A decent selection of food and drinks is available in the front desk/deli store, and I especially loved not having to brew my own coffee in the morning. The bathrooms look modern and are kept very clean (at least in my section). The camp sites are a tad small as others have stated, but big enough for my needs. I will certainly return to this place!

Been coming to Willoughby for years! I've been coming to this campground in particular since 2018. It's one of the more affordable/flexible options for staying on the lake (we tent camp). Location is beyond amazing, across the street from the water. New ownership seems to be trying to cater to a family oriented experience, quite hours at 10pm, fires out by 11pm, and one car per campsite (additional cars are charged a fee). We usually camp with a group of a few couples coming from different locations so it can make things a little bit harder with coordination. You will get shushed by owners after 10pm if your volume isn't pretty low, especially at the campsites (noise tends to broadcast down onto the main campground even at reasonable volume). Just be mindful of that. Other than that, the new renovations to bathrooms, tent sites, and parking are really great. Store is always fully stocked and offers a good selection of baked goods and sandwiches. Bathrooms are clean! Kayak rentals are reasonable! Staff is friendly!

Pretty nice campground in general. A bit pricey.

Docking two stars because they sell unseasoned firewood. The wood was so crackly that an ember landed on my jacket shoulder from several feet away. Burned an inch wide hole in my new jacket and shirt before I noticed the ember burning my skin. So that wasn't too great.

Beautiful location though! Just consider replacing the source of your firewood please.

This is our second year camping at the White Caps Campground and I think it will be an annual event. It is run by the NICEST people and the accommodations are wonderful including very clean showers and bathrooms. It is literally adjacent to one of the most magnificent lakes and great hiking! This place is a "must stay at".
