The views can't be beat. If you love fishing, you can fish right from the rv park. The staff is nice. Easy walking to the boardwalk, but you will have to drive for anything else. The laundry room is clean, though a few of the washers and dryers didn't work. If you want quarters, make sure you have a $5. The hot tub hasn't worked in years apparently. The internet is terrible. We wanted to stay for 6 weeks, however they were going to charge us for a full month for the last 2 weeks so we went somewhere else instead. The rates are too high for what you get. There are no activities planned unless the campers plan it themselves. No propane delivery or garbage pickup at campsites. If you don't fish you are paying for the view.
My first vacation in 4 years, and I selected this place on a whim. I like the name-- Serendipity-- and it offered furnished cabin. So glad I came here! Palacios, TX is such a quiet town-- perfect getaway to relax.
Serendipity Bay is the nicest RV park in the area-- MANY amenities. There are lots of RV parks in the area, but most are just a field with slots to park. Serendipity has 1 house, 2 cabins and plenty of RVs for rent. Or bring your own! Large RV area with water & electric hookups and picnic tables. Grounds include a marina, 2 fishing docks, fabulous pool, bright clean laundry facility, excellent exercise room with new equipment, plus a couple community rooms that could host party, meeting, family gatherings, etc. Office, marina and grounds staff are super nice!
The large pool is crystal clear and super cool lit up at night. Covered seating area and chaises for sunning. 2 tiki in-pool seating areas plus a shallow ledge for lounging.
My cabin was furnished nicely and sleeps up to 4 (second bed in loft). One of the cabin's best features is the screened deck overlooking the marina. So nice to have morning coffee or evening beverage and watch the boats and birds.
The town of Palacios is small but has wide variety of dining and shopping options. Everything you need. Waterfront along Tres Palacios Bay has plenty of parking, fishing docks, covered picnic tables and bathroom facilities. The public beach area is within walking distance from Serendipity (15 minutes), or just a very short drive.
There are commercial marinas just beyond the RV park's grounds. Fun to watch fishing boats going to and from the bay.
I will definitely be a repeat customer!
Lady’s in the office are super sweet and helpful, park is okay nice view and fishing has bath/laundry. Old man that rides around on the golf cart (works here) is rude and doesn’t follow the rules and picks and chooses who has to follow them. Kids stay running around by themselves. But the internet was good.
Very disappointed. We have stayed here 3 years so far and every year they have tried to charge us extra fees. This year they sent me an email saying they are going to charge us for a towel rack that fell off the wall and it should be less than a hundred dollars for paint and repairing the holes for a towel rack that that they mounted into Sheetrock without anchors, toggle bolts, or into a stud. I would also like to mention that there was not any of the common items provided. For example toilet paper or trash bags. There was a stinky trash can next to the bay house from the fishing pier that the maintenance guy which came out every night to check on wrist bands never took out. People would always park in our parking spots and try to walk through the bay house to get to the pier. I would not recommend this place if you would like to enjoy a vacation. Please read this before your stay here.
Like I said please read this and the owners response. Very ridiculous and unprofessional with their response. Do not stay here!
We arrived at night late check in. Paperwork and keys were in night box as promised. Cabin is nothing like in the pictures on the internet. The only chair are the ones at the dining table. Bring your own towels and wash clothes. Today I will go buy towels and stuff for the remainder of the trip. They provide them but they are old and worn out. Bring an extra extension cord plug in so you can have more electrical plugs. Plugs are few and far between that are available. Bed, is ok but not great. Park is quite not full or even half full. For me this isn’t the best if you have little kids. More for adults and a fishing trip.
