Established in the mid-1940s, this property has been a hidden jewel for nearly eighty years.
Lone Star Lake is definitely off the beaten path. Through the years, the lake has retained its peaceful beauty and it remains a great place to “get away from it all”.
We moved from the Dallas area in 1998 and nothing has been the same since. We enjoy life, our family, and nature. Here, we have found a little piece of heaven on earth and are eager to share it with you, your family, and friends.
Scenic View Motel, RV Park & Marina is very conveniently located deep in the beautiful piney woods of East Texas. We are about half an hour from IH-30 to the north and the same from IH-20 to the south. The property is at the edge of Lone Star. Texas which has eating establishments, a nice grocery store, and numerous retail outlets. One of the best steakhouses in East Texas is less than 20 minutes away. In addition, there are numerous hiking trails, birding locations, and other nature activity areas that are very close to us. It is a terrific location and yet is still away from all the hustle and bustle of “normal” life.

We are rather “old school” with our procedures. Rather than have you just click some buttons to make your reservations, we actually like to talk to our guests in the process. It’s all part of the friendly and personal way we operate.

A hidden treasure!!!!!! Kim and Jim are perfectly wonderful hosts and care about their guests. Their personal touches are all around you. Thank you for an oasis during our stay. The view and the lake are beautiful and the room was fantastic. I honestly can't say enough about this place except LOVE IT! LOVE IT!! LOVE IT!!!!!
Tried to book cabin 3 mos in advance, was told they dont book that far out and they would make note and we would beed to call back later. When we did call back as instructed, they had booked the cabin to someone else. She said she didn't make a note in the book. She offered us a room, which we refused because this is not how people should be treated. We booked elsewhere.
We stayed in the cabin. We loved it. Super clean and if we needed anything all we had to do was ask.... immediately we were taken care of. We stayed during the forth of July. Very nice firework show. They were packed but it was all good everyone was so nice. I recommend everyone to check out gift shop. The t-shirts are really cool. I would advise anyone who is going thru and need a place to stay....this is the place. I promise you you can't go wrong staying here. We really enjoyed our stay. We will definitely stay here again.
This place is a true diamond! I stayed here a week ago at the motel. It is on the waters edge with lots of amenities.
The bed was comfortable. Plenty of hot water. I cooked all my meals on the 2 burner stove. When I needed additional kitchen items, like an extra large mixing bowl, Kim kindly provided one. The nobs on the stove took a little getting used to but worked fine. The fridge, a 3/4 size, was plenty big and the freezer kept the ice solid.
The real beauty is outside. While it's been hot enough to cook on the sidewalk lately, the water is cool. There is swimming either off the dock or right at the waters edge. There is also a kayak available for rent.
The clubhouse has a beautiful covered deck with multiple comfortable tables and chairs. I enjoyed lunch here before departure. There are ceiling fans that kept it cool. There is also an upper deck that made for wonderful sunset observations. There are lounge chairs that are great for sun bathing there if that is more your thing. There are picnic tabls, porch type swings and outdoor games around the property. They also offer a fully stocked tackle shop. They have a pontoon boat on site that appears may be available for rent also.
The site exceptionally clean and well cared for. Kim and Jim are very welcoming and go above and beyond to welcome their guests!!
There is also a cabin available for rent. It is absolutely stunning! The view of the water is unobstructed. The shower is rustic yet modern. Ya gotta see the pictures!
They also offer multiple RV sites available. A laundry room is available at the far end of the motel for guest use.
I can't say enough about this place. It's a great place for a drop in or to get a away from the crazy, hectic noise of the city for a while. Kim and Jim are the best!!
One of the most beautiful views on a lake that I've ever seen. Room, convenience store, boat launch ramps, and fishing dock all with 100 yards. Personalized customer service with a smile. Not to mention parking for Super Duty pickup trucks. Will be booking an extended stay in the near future!!
