The Circle 10 council camps are fantastic. Ranger Kevin is always so friendly and helpful when our Troop heads out to East TX. We will be back soon!
Very rustic, not as landscaped for easy camping. Challenging to navigate at night. By morning light, pleased overall. Great fall weather made sleeping easy. Watch for poison ivy. Bring TP for latrines or bury your business. This could be more of a challenge with female campers. Nice facilitates are a good ways to hike. First time on this side of camp. We've been to Trevor-Reese Jones side several times. Camp Clements is huge!
My son's troop attended Camporee this past weekend. When they said this camp was primitive, they weren't kidding. No electricity or running water. Once we adapted, we had a great time. Since it was just before Halloween, and we arrived after dark, the 3 mile drive down a dirt road in the dark seemed like the beginning of so many scary movies! Well worth the visit though.
A somewhat secluded area for a weekend Campout. Pretty quiet for the most part. Still close enough to civilization in Athens, and not a far drive from the DFW area.
