Our campground is located along the banks of the Ohio River. Easy to access right on the Ohio River Scenic Byway or US Highway 52. View river barges and tugs as they go by several times a day. Take in the sites of the Kentucky Appalachian foothills on the other side of the river. Wake up to the sounds of many birds that make their home in the scenic Ohio River bluffs. Toss a line in as you fish the river from our boat ramp. Take a hot shower or do laundry in our well stocked and clean bath house. Our hookups include 50/30 amp electric, sewer and water at each site. For your convenience we also offer honey wagon services and a dump station.
We rented the Mama Bear camper for a long weekend. We enjoyed it so much that we stayed an extra night! It was perfect! Great A/C, spotlessly clean, quiet, peaceful, roomy, well stocked, and every little detail was thoughtfully provided, down to a vase for flowers & an outdoor tablecloth for the table on the deck out front!
Julie, Darcy, Ann & Bill were amazing hosts & so friendly & helpful! We enjoyed the activities & the band Saturday night. The shower house was clean & we liked the large private rooms with fans to cool off. Nice, well stocked camp store, cute playground, large pavilion & beautiful views of the Ohio River! Very quiet and clean campground. Owners are very friendly and helpful. We stayed in the river cabin in May with our adult children and grandchildren camping in their campers. Wonderful playground for the children and special activities for them as well. Then in June my husband and I rented the river cabin again for our 41st wedding anniversary. The cabin is newly renovated and so cozy. Highly recommend this special place on our Ohio river!
Great Ohio River RV sites, worth the extra money for the awesome view. Peaceful place to relax and enjoy time off. Fun Amish bulk stores for your shopping spice frenzy!! Watching the barges and a nice fire pit to end the day! The staff working constantly to make the place clean and prepared for the next camper!

Spent weekend in the boathouse cabin with my family. Loved every minute there. It had everything you need to cook with pots pans cups plates silverware The beds were comfortable . We even had a tiny bit useful bathroom and shower. It was a unique experience that our daughter had been looking forward to and didn't disappoint. I love to watch the Barges going down the river . Also shout out to the Wangers for taking such good care of their campers .
This is such a special place! We stopped at Sandy Springs for two nights on our way bicycling down the Ohio River. Everything everyone says about this family-run campground is true. The River Cabin is super cozy and clean, the view of the river is incredible, and the Wangler family is made up of the most personable and helpful folks ever! We were happy to discover wifi, an electric grill, hot plate, microwave, coffee maker, toaster and refrigerator in the cabin, along with all the dishes, pots and pans and basics needed to cook. I sure hope we get to come back here again someday.
