Very large playground that's right next to a nice sized clean pool. The bathroom houses aren't very clean, and either was the shower area. The site was nice sized for our 41 ft camper. Weekends definitely fill up. Quite hours aren't enforced from what we noticed. We would definitely stay again when in town.
Pros: Big camping spaces, super kind office staff, picnic tables and fire rings at each site, clean pool, playground, pool tables in the office building, snacks for sale, busses to/from canoe livery. A large yard surrounding the pavillion. Wonderful DJ one night, and wonderful live music the next night! Good vibes, and good view of the stars. Quiet hour at 11pm.
Cons: Some of the women's bathrooms had very cramped stalls with walls rather high off the floor. TP was very thin. No sinks in the bathrooms, except for the one in the office. The women's showers were somewhat old, with white walls turning yellow, and rust streaking down from the metal pieces. I recommend wearing flip flops while showering.
I cannot tell you how many campgrounds my wife and I stayed in this summer, but this is by far the most unusual.
The experience began upon our arrival (40’ DP plus the toad. The campground isn’t designed for this type of unit, but we had picked a corner lot. That was the easiest to get to. We were very disappointed to find that it was not an FHU, but electric and water only.
The website said that it was a FHU but the lady was aghast that I didn’t realize that the side of the campground where we were staying did not have any sewer available except for a dump station.
So I have to question the $49 per night rate for limited hook ups.
I will admit that the Wi-Fi was better than at the other campgrounds, but it is not free!
Normally, I would have given 3 stars, but the lots were very large and nicely shaded. You could park on the lot in any way that you saw fit. That’s a luxury that’s hard to find!
The best part of the entire experience was learning to cook bacon after it has been coded with flour. Wonderful!
The location is perfect, and the river tour was minutes away. The park offers a shuttle to and from and the prices are very fair for the campground. The dumping station is conveniently on the way out and simple to access. The reason my rating is lower was because when my family and I went to the pool the other guests were AWFUL. The teenagers were running around screaming, physically fighting and swearing left and right. They were jumping off the ladders and being very aggressive and obnoxious and the staff did nothing. As soon as some rain and one lightening strike came the staff immediately ran out and closed to pool, which I understand for safety but to allow the other guests and teens to act in such a way they did was repulsive and made the park feel very trashy and unsafe for my young children. We loved the location but we likely won't go back because it was so out of control. The playground was a little better but there were still teens being rude and aggressive over their as well. If the staff was more attentive it could have changed the entire situation. The pool area itself was very nice and it looked newly renovation as well as the upgraded playground. When I called to book they told me they had a military discount and they would apply it when we arrived. Well we arrived and they said "oh, we don't do it these days". That too was off-putting. Hopefully the park can fix these issues and it'll thrive.
