Thank you to the new owners of Pine Acres for NOTHING.For the past several years the previous owners were nice enough to allow travelers to use their dump station (for a fee which I have happily paid). For the record I have also stayed there in previous years. But to my surprise they no longer allow that practice And imagine my surprise when I show up and get turned away with a full grey and black tanks that needed to be dumped. I was a greeted by a young man
Who despite my pleas was very adamant and slightly annoyed with me and my predicament
In closing will do my best to share this with my camping group. That Pine Acres in Raymond New Hampshire. Should be avoided. I for one will always look for an alternative for my camping dollars.
And again I was more that willing to pay for the convenience of dumping my tanks. Was by no means looking for any for nothing
Stayed over Labor Day 2023. If could have given a zero I would. Unkept & overgrown. Low and dead branches everywhere. Bathrooms were filthy or not in working order. Dump stations not working or larger rigs cannot possibly get too.
Thousand Trails destination campground my butt, what a joke! Prepare for scratches and pine pitch all over your rig.Yes it is called Pine Acres but pine pitch generally comes from damaged or dead branches of which there is an abundance. This campground is so overgrown we couldn't get into our original site, we got our rig trapped by large branches because we were sent down a road we should never have been sent too.
This is a Thousand Trails destination campground we had to pay extra for, the same a going to the ones in the Keys. I cannot believe thousand trails has them on there listing. Sites are small and overgrown. They sent a 40+ fifth wheel being hauled by a semi up to an area where there was not one site they would have been able to get into. Hour later, they came back down and were able to manuever into the site near us. Still took them awhile but they got in. The owner stated that he had asked them if he would fit and gave them his rigs dimensions and they still booked him.
The one good thing I can say about this campground is the staff tried to be helpful for the most part. But know the limitations of your roadways and campsites and what will fit, this should be a priority, its as if they never had rode through the campground. Even the one that came to help us with the tree branches asked why we were on this road, we were sent by your front desk staff and even hi-lighted it on the map. 13' tall rig vs 10' high branches. KNOW YOU CAMPGROUND!
We had gone to the front office to see if there was another site we could move to and she gave us a list to drive by (without our rig) one road she send us down had a hill and corner that a 35" fifth wheel could not possibly manuever through. We had mentioned we probably could have gotten into the original site we were assigned to if some of the trees were limbed up and she said it wouldn't be a campground without trees. Limbing up trees, removing dead branches and trees isn't clearcutting a campground, it is call maintenance, which this campground is sorely in need of.
This is specifically for Thousand Trail members DO NOT GO TO THIS CAMPGROUND! Don't be fooled by the destination designation.
Mostly permanent sites. Our site was supposed to be 30 amps, we are lucky if it had 20. We could run 1 electric item at a time. Bathrooms were either closed or unclean. No clean up of down branches. Worst part was being across from pavilion, where they played corn hole and loud music until 1050 pm. Then Sat night they had a dance party where the music was so loud and made no difference being inside the trailer, with a pounding head ache and grandson that could not sleep because it was so loud. Plus you can hear the traffic from highway nearby.
This campground was really awesome..we stayed in one of the cabins...and the site was nice and quiet. Staff was amazing at the front desk. Only downfall there were no golf carts to rent but hopefully there's always next year. Stayed for a quick weekend get away and it sure was relaxing. When it was time to leave I felt like I was leaving family members behind because the staff was so friendly! We will be back next year
Make sure you bring your pillows. I have been to other campsites with the lodging and they include the pillows but not the linens. Of course we didn’t bring pillows thinking they were going to provide them. This was disappointing. Cleaning could have been better. They left us rolls of toilet paper that were already used not brand new ones. No extra trash bags. The cabin had a weird smell also had to get air freshener. The staff were very nice and friendly. Not much to do at the campsite. It was nice that our cabin was near the lake. We were able to get beautiful pictures with the foliage. There was a bench there if you wanted to sit. Our neighbor had free painted rocks and shells for a donation which were hand painted and so adorable. Didn’t really see many of the other campers. It was peaceful not much noise. Campsite store was well stocked with everything you would need. Only thing is the office and store closes at 4 which I believe is too early. Good thing there is a Walmart and other stores not too far away. We got wood from the man across the street from the campsite. Recommend getting it from there he was selling a wheelbarrow worth for $20. That was a steal! The wood burned good not much smoke.
