Campsite: Pine Acres Resort

Stayed over Labor Day 2023. If could have given a zero I would. Unkept & overgrown. Low and dead branches everywhere. Bathrooms were filthy or not in working order. Dump stations not working or larger rigs cannot possibly get too.

Thousand Trails destination campground my butt, what a joke! Prepare for scratches and pine pitch all over your rig.Yes it is called Pine Acres but pine pitch generally comes from damaged or dead branches of which there is an abundance. This campground is so overgrown we couldn't get into our original site, we got our rig trapped by large branches because we were sent down a road we should never have been sent too.

This is a Thousand Trails destination campground we had to pay extra for, the same a going to the ones in the Keys. I cannot believe thousand trails has them on there listing. Sites are small and overgrown. They sent a 40+ fifth wheel being hauled by a semi up to an area where there was not one site they would have been able to get into. Hour later, they came back down and were able to manuever into the site near us. Still took them awhile but they got in. The owner stated that he had asked them if he would fit and gave them his rigs dimensions and they still booked him.

The one good thing I can say about this campground is the staff tried to be helpful for the most part. But know the limitations of your roadways and campsites and what will fit, this should be a priority, its as if they never had rode through the campground. Even the one that came to help us with the tree branches asked why we were on this road, we were sent by your front desk staff and even hi-lighted it on the map. 13' tall rig vs 10' high branches. KNOW YOU CAMPGROUND!

We had gone to the front office to see if there was another site we could move to and she gave us a list to drive by (without our rig) one road she send us down had a hill and corner that a 35" fifth wheel could not possibly manuever through. We had mentioned we probably could have gotten into the original site we were assigned to if some of the trees were limbed up and she said it wouldn't be a campground without trees. Limbing up trees, removing dead branches and trees isn't clearcutting a campground, it is call maintenance, which this campground is sorely in need of.

This is specifically for Thousand Trail members DO NOT GO TO THIS CAMPGROUND! Don't be fooled by the destination designation.
