Cabins and cottages with tent sites plus one RV site. Located in the Davis Mountains and Chihuahuan Desert of Far West Texas, we have spectacular views and abundant wildlife. Our property features a restroom with shower for our campers. We have a picnic table at the tent sites and a pavilion with gas grill and fridge for all guests to use.
We are located in a Dark Skies Reserve. You can stargaze and see the Milky Way from your site. We are 18 miles from McDonald Observatory. Historic Fort Davis is less than 5 miles away. Hiking trails and shopping are popular here.
We also have an on-site cafe, serving breakfast and lunch Fridays through Mondays, 8am to 2pm.

Normally when I come out to Ft Davis I stay at one of the locations downtown. Decided to try something new this time and I'm so glad I did! The rooms are very comfortable and well equipped, though the bathroom in my cabinette was a little smaller than expected. I had a magnificent view of the desert lit up by the supermoon right off my front porch.
The staff are very friendly and super helpful. There was a small problem with my reservation, but a short call had everything fixed. A great experience - will definitely be back on my next trip!
Not fancy. But very clean. AC was good also. Staff is very quick to fix things. The only issue is that for dogs, they need a grass spot. The goat heads were horrible. We had to go to the square for our poor dog. We had to pull out broken goat heads from her feet.
We had a large group of parents and students visit Fort Davis in September '23 and chose to stay at Mountain View Lodges. Suffice it to say, it was a fantastic property where Jeanine and the staff made it one of our most memorable stays! The accommodations exceeded our expectations, and the pavilion provided the perfect place to hold our group dinners. One of the parents said, "It was one of the ten best weekends of my life." I think that was the consensus among all of us. Mountain View Lodges will be our home away from home when we're in Fort Davis. I can't recommend this property strongly enough!
We had a wonderful experience here! There were 5 of us in Cottage #2 and we had plenty of space. The cottage was well supplied and very comfortable, location is convenient to everything nearby, host very responsive. We will definitely stay here again if we get back out to Fort Davis.
Stayed in cabin 1. Cabin was spotless. Excellent selection of kitchenware, plates, etc.
Bed very comfortable. Flawless stay. Had breakfast at the cafe and it was delicious.
WiFi good, TV had Internet TV worked great and DVD player as well .
