Areas closed to dispersed camping include Bent Creek Experimental Forest; the Cradle of Forestry in America; the Wilson Creek corridor; Silvermine Creek; developed day-use sites and campgrounds; and many wildlife openings. For site specific information. call the ranger districts.
Went fishing with a friend in the North Mills River. Always an enjoyable location. Hoping for good weather and deeper waters.
I stayed in site 13 and it was some of the most restful sleep I've had in weeks.
Camp host is excellent and had firewood available for purchase.
Highly recommended!
It's a camp ground and a river full of trout. Good facilities so it's way ahead of the woods. Fishing is tight quarters. But really good.
We camped two nights over Labor Day weekend with our dog at North Mills River Campground. Although it was very rainy, the campground was nice. Our site was shaded and private though our closest neighbors weren't far away. And by the second night, most people had bailed from the rain. The bathrooms and showers were very clean and it was quiet at night. It's a nice location, close to Mills River, Brevard, Pisgah Forest and the Blue Ridge Parkway. And there are a few trails right in this area as well. I would definitely camp here again and just hope for a little less rain.
