Tellurian Family Campground offers conveniently located spacious travel trailer, camper, RV and tent camp sites with incredible views and access to a pristine mountain river. The property consists of 93 acres and 2780 feet (1⁄2 mile) of river frontage on the First Broad River. The First Broad River offers canoeing, kayaking, tubing, and fishing. Smallmouth and freshwater sunfishing is incredible on this stretch of the river and there are also opportunities for mountain river catfish.
Tellurian’s scenic location offers stunning vista views of the surrounding countryside, sprawling views of the South Mountain and Cherry Mountain ranges, as well as long range views of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The sunsets are amazing and the star lit skies are uninhibited by city lights. One of the few lights that can be seen at night lights up a steeple silhouetted against the mountain ridges. It’s truly a peaceful site.

Tellurian Campground is a hidden gem! We had a very relaxing stay with beautiful mountain views. ⛰️You can tell the owners have a real heart for this place and are working to make it thrive. Our only complaint is we had to leave. 🥹
Incredible campground! You can tell they have put so much work into making this a peaceful, happy retreat into nature. The campgrounds are pristine and have beautiful sunset views. There is a magical little river swimming hole with small waterfalls and crystal clear water down a short trail from the camping spots. The owner, Jud, was so nice and welcoming throughout our stay. We can’t wait to come back soon! One of our favorite places we have ever stayed.
Finishing up our last day at Tellurian family campground. This is the quietest and darkest campground I’ve ever been to. And I mean that in the best possible way. It probably helped that we were the only ones there until our last night. The owner came by to welcome us and bring us a welcome gift of fire starter with the cutest picture drawn by their daughter. The only light is at the top of the hill at the building that will become the bathhouse. So it’s a great place to stargaze at night. There are 6 sites here terraced on the side of the hill that face a beautiful mountain vista. Close to South mtn State Park with good hiking or you can just take some beautiful walks down to the river.
About 40 minutes away is some of the best bbq you’ll ever put in your mouth. JD’s Smokehouse in Connelly Springs. Worth every mile!
Loved Tellurian and hope to come back!
Amanda and Jud have a beautiful gold mine sitting right in the heart of little country town of Casar. Beautiful views of South Mountain, this little small campground is small, peaceful, clean, and relaxing. Amanda and Jud have been so helpful throughout our little stay here at Tellurian. Very personable and down to earth. The campsites are good and level with drainage running away from your camper. The electric is all new. Large sites to accommodate bigger campers. We parked a 38ft travel trailer and a Ram 3500 dually comfortably. Access to the river multiple ways with a short distance walk. A great area to float in tubes and play. If you’re looking for a spot away from home, that has amazing views and very personable look no further. Hidden gem!
We had the best experience at Tellurian Family Campground. We went for a week after most schools were back in session, so we were the only ones there for the majority of our stay. The spots were spacious and the location cannot be beat. You are off the beaten path a bit, but that is what we wanted. And even still you are still within easy driving distances to Asheville and Marion and we did a couple of day trips. South Mountain State Park is just down the road (the waterfall hike is tough but beautiful) and you are within 10 minutes to a Dollar General and convenience store for any last minute things you may have forgotten. As for the property - the spots were large and well thought out. The area is GORGEOUS and we had a blast exploring the river. Judd was very kind and offered firewood and fire starter. He stopped by and let us know if we need anything, we just had to ask. We drove from Indiana and would do it again for the experience we had.
