We purchased our nine-acre property a little over three years ago. It was a run down, small, manufactured home park with a farmhouse on it. It has been an ongoing labor of love to transform it into a small, unique RV and tent camping park along beautiful Conleys Creek in Whittier, NC.
Conleys Creek Campground offers 4 tent spots (first come, first served), as well as 4 RV spots. All located along Conleys Creek with grills and fire pits. We also rent our 38' luxury RV. We are pet friendly and open year-round.
We have torn down and repurposed some of the manufactured homes on the property. We now offer a charming 2 bedroom / 1 bath unit, complete with a private yard containing a hot tub, fire pit and grill. Dogs are allowed in the yard, off their leashes.
We continue to expand our gardens with a wide variety of vegetables and herbs. We have planted many evergreen, fruit, and flowering trees, lovely bushes, and flowers for bold color throughout the year. Our property is pesticide free. We currently have 12 free range chickens, known as The Dixie Chicks! Individually named after female country singers. Guests enjoy feeding, petting, and collecting their eggs, which are delicious! Fish or cool off in our creek, which is regularly stocked with trout.
As a convenience to our guests, we sell fresh eggs, firewood, and ice. Enjoy the game room, complete with billiards, darts, games and DVD's. Or play one of our numerous outdoor yard games. There is a public golf course less than a mile down the road. We have a very clean, private guest bath house, excellent WI-FI, and a dump station.
Hike up our mountain range to locate our second creek. This was how we got the original name, Hidden Creek Retreat. However, we recently changed it to Conleys Creek Campground because this better reflects how we have grown our business and who we are!
Our guests love our convenient location to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. We are nestled conveniently between Bryson City and Cherokee. Close to other charming towns, including Sylva and Dillsboro, and many outdoor attractions. Enjoy hiking, biking, fishing, tubing, kayaking and whitewater raft, all near our property. This is our home, business, and new lifestyle. Come and enjoy it with us!
Thank you Anne and Chris for your wonderful service. The property is absolutely beautiful. The creek is very refreshing if you want to take a dip in da water. This place has a great game room. I really enjoyed playing ping-pong, uno and throwing darts. There's also a shower room which is very convenient. The rooms are kept nice and clean. I love the chickens they are so funny and Teddy and Monty are adorable. We found da turtle in da creek. 🐢
Anne and Chris are wonderful hosts. They have a small piece of heaven in Hidden Creek Retreat! We can't wait to go back and enjoy the serenity of it and see what else they add. The RV was super clean and Anne made sure to add special touches. Very responsive when needed. Gave us tips to the local areas! Can't wait to go back!
One week later and we are still smiling from a wonderful weekend at Hidden Creek. My husband and I, and our 18 month old spent two nights last weekend and had the best time! Chris met us when we arrived and we easily parked our 24 ft camper. Chris and Anne had tons of great info for what to do in the area and had awesome dinner recommendations for us. Their property is also delightful- from the bubbling creek and zinnias in the garden and the added bonus of trees just starting to turn red and yellow. Anne and Chris were great hosts and even brought us fresh eggs from their chickens and herbs from their garden. We loved it there and can’t wait to return.
Great place for tent camping, rv camping, cottage stays, and more! This is our second stay here. Chris and Ann are amazing hosts, they rent out places on hippcamp as well as evolve. There is lots of very sweet chickens on the property as well as a beautiful stream. They sell firewood and super yummy farm fresh eggs for a very affordable price to all their guests. Our first stay, we brought our pop up camper that we parked along the river. We hooked right up to water and electricity. They have a nice public bathroom/shower room. They recently added a game room for guests. We are currently staying in their cottage They have and we are loving it here! Fully stocked, clean, and comfortable! Near by cities of Bryson and Silva are great places to visit. Close neighbor town of Cherokee is the gateway to all the hiking trails along the smokies! Check out Cherokee visitors center right before sunset to get the best view of the Elk! Make sure to keep a safe distance and stay in your vehicle to view.
My first camper van stay at this location was extraordinary. The peaceful sound of a nearby stream set a serene tone. Inside, the van was cozy and well-organized, with a charming holiday theme adding to the festive atmosphere.
The entertainment was top-notch, featuring a vast DVD collection and an impressive sound system, making our movie nights special. The game room offered loads of fun, and the presence of farm chickens outdoors brought a quaint, rustic charm.
Overall, Anne and Chris expertly combined comfort, entertainment, and nature. I highly recommend it for a unique and relaxing experience. It's perfect for anyone looking to enjoy a peaceful retreat with all the comforts and fun you could want.
