About Campground

It's all about location!! Our camp is uniquely situated in one of the few remote areas in the Smokies, surrounded by many recreational activities. Our campsites are the perfect basecamp for your next adventure! Our property borders the Pisgah National Forest and is next to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park Big Creek entrance. Within 4 miles, there is an entrance to the Appalachian Trail, rafting along the Pigeon River, the Smoky Mountain 1000 bike trail, horseback riding trails, 4x4 trails, multiple hiking trails and so much more! Cataloochee Valley, NC and Cosby, TN are both fun drives (all gravel roads) from the camp. We are happy to share more information with you!

This portion of the camp consist of 2 sites with a community meeting house (aka the Big House) and a bathhouse. Both sites can be rented individually or the entire camp can be rented together. Each campsite has a fire ring, electric hookup, water hookup, room for multiple vehicles or tents, and access to the community bathhouse and the Big House. The bathhouse features a sink, flushing toilet, and a single shower. The Big House features a full-size refrigerator, stove/oven, and farm table. Potable water is now available onsite!

Please note: The camp boundary is surrounded by the National forest and is very secluded! 4x4 or AWD is required to access this property. There is a very small creek crossing to access the property. 4x4 is a MUST if pulling a trailer. Cell service is spotty and major services (stores and hospitals) are 30-45 min away. Please come prepared.

NOTE: The nightly rate is $65 per site for up to 4 guests. Each additional guest is $15. Each site can accommodate multiple vehicles, tents, etc. If you would like to rent the entire camp for a group, please reach out to us first so we can verify availability.

Over the past 6 months, my wife and 2 year old son have been blessed with the opportunity to adventure through Europe and South America. From enchanted castles in Spain, to the vast beauty of Patagonia, we have borne witness to some of the world's most beautiful places.

Without a doubt, this place deserves a top spot among all these places on the list of "Most Beautiful Places in the World to Travel to". It is a stunning place!

LOCATION LOCATION!

While this property is only few minutes to town (a huge plus when adventuring with a little one), the fact that it is nestled squarely between thousands of acres of National Park on one side, and thousands of acres of National Forest on the other, provides a level of solitude that is nearly impossible to find anywhere else on the Eastern Seaboard. I can't think of another place where I can have both cell service and amazing star gazing at the same time!

Full Service:

If you're a fan of Hipcamp, you've likely come across numerous listings simply advertising a spot in a random backyard as a "camp site". This is the polar opposite of that. The owners of Falcon Expeditions not only thought of every detail, they have equipped the property with the infrastructure necessary to match those thoughts. The directions were clear and detailed, the common spaces/bathrooms were better than advertised and immaculately clean. In addition, the space is generously stocked with cooking utensils/supplies, and other items... Next time we'll pack much less!

In conclusion...If you're looking to get away from the big crowds and need a scenic adventure that doesn't require an airplane ticket to Patagonia, this is your spot.. We can't wait to go back!

We have gotten the wonderful opportunity to camp with Elizabeth and Matt now numerous times and it was some of our BEST in the books. Their camp is set up perfectly to have a beautiful gathering or an intimate setting. From the hot showers to the kitchen and fire ring I love this camp! It will make you want to find your own oasis in the beautiful Appalachian Mountains. But why when this one is already here.

When they cook for you, you will want more and more. I can say that honestly because every morning I have woken up wanting more wishing I had made a take home plate or they had it for breakfast the next day!
