This tiny but mighty cabin, w/breakfast & coffee included, sits up on Jelm Mountain at 7600 ft with a view overlooking the Laramie River. This cozy spot is equipped with a queen bed, Outhouse, (with access to a full, not shared, bathroom) propane gas grill, picnic table, fire pit, hot tub/Sun room, and gazebo. .
Little Cabin with a View sits right on the edge of Medicine Bow-Routt National Forest and is close to the Wyoming Colorado Border. This makes it an amazing hiking destination and great for snowshoeing and nordic skiing in the winter. Depending on the time of year a trip up Jelm Mountain offers some beautiful views. The lack of light pollution make for great star gazing or full moon watching from the gazebo, hot tub or the Little Cabin front porch.
There is electricity, electric heat, microwave & mine fridge. The Wi-Fi is accessible in the sunroom/hot tub area, located about 180 ft from the Little Cabin, but does not extend to the Little Cabin. Downlading is slow but checking messages, social media & wi-fi calling works fine. Download anything you want to watch or listen to prior to arrival.
Fur Babies are welcome. They love the room to run.
Fire Pit use is dependent on winds and the weather and how dry the surrounding area is.
Map to Woodslanding. At Woodslanding turn on to 10. Go over 2 cattle guards & just past the two mile marker. There will be a home on the right and on the left at Bugling Elk Trail there is a big metal building. Turn left on to Bugling Elk Trail & follow it past all of the homes, Thru the header gate that says Bugling Elk and on to the top of the hill. Pull past the house to the garage with the green doors and I’ll run out.
We rented all three guest houses for friends and family for our son's wedding. The place was spacious and clean and the beds were comfortable. The kitchen was pretty well stocked with items to cook for our gang. The place was a little tricky to find, just beyond the Albany Lodge. The Moose portion has a loft with mattresses to sleep 11 and had large deck for extended living space. Highly recommend the place. A little pricey, but nice to have everyone together.
Our group of 16 (13 adults, 2 teens, 1 infant) had the pleasure of staying at Aspen Creek Cabins a few weeks ago. We booked all 3 units and had plenty of space for everyone. Each until is appropriately stocked with kitchen/bath necessities. Paula (owner) is very responsive by text to any and all questions/concerns and although we did not need much, we found her pleasant to work with. From booking to check in to check out everything was perfect. The cabin(s) is located within walking distance to Albany Lodge in Albany Wyoming. At the lodge you have access to fuel, ATV riding permits, fishing licenses, Ice, food, beverage, etc. Bring your ATVs or rent rigs at the Polaris rental shop on Albany Lodge Property. There is truck and trailer parking very near by for a cost of $5/day. We used one vehicle and our ATVs to shuttle luggage/coolers from the lot to the cabin which worked very well since parking is limited at the cabin(s). We visited in late August when the afternoon sun warms up temps ...There is no AC in the units however the evenings get cool and Paula had several fans in each unit for our use. Thank you Paula for a wonderful summer vacation in the mountains!
We had a great time at Aspen Creek. It was the perfect location for all the fishing spots we wanted to hit on Medicine Bow and the proximity to Albany Lodge was ideal for ATV rentals.
Eagle's Nest was the property we rented with room for 4, it included everything we needed (including a full kitchen). There are only three rentals on the property - smaller is definitely better. The owners were available quickly for all questions leading up to the stay and we were excited to arrive!
Definitely would recommend Aspen Creek, and stay there again.
Highly Recommend!
We are cooks and the kitchen had all the tools and pots/pans we needed, along with a propane grill. It was nice to come home after skiing and snowmobiling and sit in the jacuzzi tub. We loved the fireplace and games. I recommend purchasing the Wifi because our phone service didn't cut it in this remote area. We stayed at Moose Lodge and liked all the woodwork and the beds were comfortable. The view was beautiful!!
I always come out to the great state of Wyoming and wanted to try a new spot from my regular area. I am sad to say I am very disappointed. Arrived at the cabin and it was down a back driveway with branches hanging over and one scratch the side of my car. Area around the cabin not clean. Not a place for kids to play. Almost me and the kids walk out of the door and almost fell down the stairs, no gate and when wet slippery. Inside the cabin was ok except the dishes and cooking pans all dirty and I had to wash before using. The heater was all the way on or off. Very poor temperature control. And couldn't use the deck due to a large paper wasp nest. I was charged for internet that I couldn't log onto with the password given twice and charge for firewood that I couldn't use due to fire risk level critical. I contacted the owner and no adjustments were made to bill and when tried to contact I was sent to voice mail and calls never returned. It was a lot of money for nothing. Would of been better off staying in a tent. Very disappointed and don't recommend this place.
