**Four wheel drive is recommended for anyone planning to camp in Soldier Rock.**
Soldier Rock is a campground which has three small sections along Lakeshore Drive. Each area provides good access to the water, partially shaded campsites, and several sheltered coves which are excellent spaces for families to gather and spend a day on the lakeshore. All of the campsites in Soldier Rock are fairly primitive, without gravel camping and/or parking pads. Each site is marked by a number sign, a table, and a fire pit. Access roads to each section are narrow and poorly developed, which makes this campground suitable for smaller camping units and tents.
Super nice, amazing views with the right amount of trees. Down side is that its super hard to get down to the campsite.
Area has in the past been good. This year there were multiple wasp nests in 3 and 4 camp spots. All 13 of us got stung multiple times. Be careful if you go. Luckily we were able to get away on the lake with the boat on the water and they dispersed out there. As soon as we went back to shore the cabin filled back up with Wasps.
