Awesome friendly KoA. My dad, and myself both agree this is likely the best campground in the entire state of Illinois. And our combined experience camping, we've camped extensively in the Midwest. There are plenty of things for children to do (pool with slide, beach chairs to sun bathe, train car rides on a tractor usually semi daily around the entire park. (Which has expanded in this owner ship my dad says from his father's experience), bounce pillow maybe half the size of a football field for children, nightly themes to keep people social if they choose to. The gentleman that owns the place, I'm sorry I don't know his name, is extremely pleasant. We both split our determination on a KoA or other independent campground (yuck there ) based on how it compares to Lena. Lena is pretty yard stick for how a campground should run. Pic of the tee pee is Circa 2018 I believe labor day weekend (maybe 2019). Me and my dad come here every year, and we're heading out this way tomorrow morning for 8 nights of relaxation here!!!
Campground is a family favorite. The owners are incredibly hard working to keep you happy and want you to enjoy your stay.
One of the best and the cleanest KOA-s we’ve been. Kudos to the owners and the staffs for maintaining the place enjoyable. There are lots of activities and amenities that entertain both adults and kids, specially kids. They won’t be disappointed or bored. The camp store was very convenient, well stocked and not overpriced for the convenience. I would definitely recommend and come back again & again whenever we can.
Super family, friendly, much fun for the whole family, and very clean place. Everyone in our party had nothing but positive to say about their experience. I will be gladly coming back. Only 45 minutes to downtown Galena, lots of state parks nearby, and plenty of fun for the whole family.
They made it very easy to book a weekend trip. They make sure you are well aware of all the awesome activities with texts throughout the day. Unfortunately, we did forget a bike helmet at the campground and it was difficult to coordinate with them to ship it to me, however, they were kind enough to hold on to it for at least a week until I could drive out there and pick it up. On a side note, they have an amazing selection of beverages from the local establishment that will certainly leave you wanting more.
