I have been a full-time camper since late 2014. I usually go south for the winter but needed to stick around this corner of the Michigan for certain obligations I had. I spent the winter of 2022/23 (5.5 months) at Lake Chemung. My street was mostly deserted as the majority of lots in the campground are park models (a notch above mobile homes) and most owners use them just for warm-weather homes. A minority of lots are paved campsites, which is what I had for my 40-Class A motorhome. I still had plenty of room between the street and my motorhome for my Wrangler.

The staff did a very good job of cleaning up the leaves in the fall (numerous times) plus maintaining the streets after a snowfall. They also did fine with their daily trash pickup, which was late in the day. Big Mike along with Bob (and his small dog) were wonderful in their role for security and trash pickup. They both bent over backwards to be nice to me, especially when my medical problems were acting up and keeping me inside for days at a time (other than to let my dog out to do her business).

I was able to receive my Amazon packages with no problem. They have a brand new hut by the entry gates for UPS, FedEx, USPS, etc. to safely deliver their packages and have them out of the weather. You can also rent a mailbox if you want to receive regular mail. I was told that without a mailbox rental, you should not receive regular mail.

When I felt up to it, I walked my dog around the campground. Their paved roads made the walk much more pleasant than most campgrounds with dirt or gravel roads. And, with 2 of the 4 restroom/shower buildings open and heated all winter, that was convenient for we older walkers when a putstop was needed.

Getting a 100+ gallon propane tank from Corrigan in Brighton was simple. They auto filled it, which made things very convenient.

The campground is conveniently located only a 10 minute drive from Walmart, Meijer, CVS, Walgreens, and all the fast food and regular restaurants, along with banks, gas stations, car washes, etc. And, it is only a 10 minute drive to I96 plus another 5 minutes east to US23 (to Flint or Ann Arbor).

Electricity was billed by Lake Chemung separately from the monthly lot rent with propane paid directly to Corrigan... all via credit card. Water and sewer was included in the lot rent, BTW.

All in all, my stay at Lake Chemung was very pleasant and if the need arose, I would be happy to stay there again.

Lyft Driver perspective: I will never pick up anyone from here again. I drove up to the gate on Friday, Sept. 8 at approximately 7:30 A.M. the visitor side of the gate was blocked by a green go cart. I waited 2 minutes before I was finally acknowledged by the gentleman working. Had a nice beard. I greeted him politely, saying, "Good morning. How are you this morning?" He didn't respond, and gave me a cold gaze. I then said, "I'm here to pick up a passenger for Lyft at 320 S Hughes." Condescendingly, he responded back that the entire resort was 320 S Hughes, and there were 340 lots. The tone it was delivered felt so rude and condescending, that I just had no desire to carry forward. That tone where they want to assume you are stupid because you don't have a Ph.D. level of knowledge on their property. I just cancelled the ride. If they continue to talk to strangers like that instead of hospitably with kindness in their heart, they get what they give. Absolutely disgraceful human interaction.

We stayed here for 2 nights while visiting the Fowlerville fair. What a clean and organized place! Used the pool on the Friday to cool down during the hot spell. Joe was so helpful when it came to navigating and parking our trailer. Hope to return next year!
