About Campground

Welcome to the Historic Village of New Richmond!

Once a bustling lumber town and center of commerce established by early settlers, New Richmond now sits idle on the Lower Kalamazoo River.

Come adventure with us!! Our riverbend glamping site awaits your arrival!

Located on our private river bank this is on 3 acres of land shared by 2 furnished glamping sites and a rustic group campsite. Our sight offers scenic views of sunrise on the riverbend as well as the New Richmond Swing Bridge. Now open to pedestrian traffic only, the small county park next door offers a riverside board walk full of natural flora and wildlife for morning strolls or the delight of a fisherman who likes to be 1st on the water! Kayak and Canoe Rentals are also available on sight by appointment or reserve one with your tent. Hiking trails nearby offer a great way to explore the Allegan Forest and reconnect with nature. 7 miles east of Saugatuck and 5 miles north of Fennville, our site makes a perfect escape from the nearby lakeshore district and tourist attractions. Just follow the paved road all the way to the end and enter through our private drive. ….where the pavement ends, adventure begins!

Thank you to the folks at WaterTrail Ventures, we had a great couple of hours on the river. Reserving kayaks and canoes for all 15 of us was easy on their website. The team that got us in and out of the water were friendly and helpful. It’s a beautiful part of the river! We saw ducks, fish, turtles, lots of birds, and a couple bald eagles. Would definitely go again!

Very friendly staff, fast and efficient service. We might have gotten a little lost on the way and staff was very helpful. So much wildlife and one of the best river experiences we’ve had!

I have fallen in love!! Me and my brother took the 5 hour trip and it was absolutely beautiful. We did see 1 adult eagle and 3 Juveniles. I am a HUGE bird lover so this was exciting for me. We did see fish jumping all around. Watched someone fishing catch a really big fish and another caught a Bass. The sights and sounds were amazing. I will FOR SURE be back!! The colors are starting to change for fall already and this made it even more beautiful. We came to the 9:30 am reservation. That is a great time to see the wildlife that is out early and enjoy the crisp morning air. Everyone that we spoke to was SO incredibly kind and very helpful. OH!!! And having your vehicle brought down to the end where the trip ends was SO nice!! You all made it easy!! I cannot wait to return :) Thank You for an amazing day and for your AWSOME hospitality :)

Nice time! My wife and I took the 2.5 hour trip and were pleasantly surprised! The first half of the trip was a little bland, but once the river split, it was incredible! We saw multiple bald eagles 🦅, and the terrain became much more interesting.

The staff was incredibly helpful and attentive, and did a great job explaining things to us. I would highly recommend the river and WaterTrail Ventures.

My husband and I took the 3 hour trip down the Kalamazoo River this morning. We had a great time relaxing and enjoying the birds singing. Plus soaking up the sun rays.

We seen a couple mature bald eagles, blue and green herons, kingfishers, a few spotted sandpipers, flycatchers, a couple red-tailed hawks and a few different kinds of turtles.

The staff was awesome too…

We will be back again.
