The only thing I didn't really care for was all of the mosquitos. Other than that the place had really large sites and it's quiet and very peaceful. There are no electric hookups or water. They do have a well pump if you need water.
Plenty of hiking and biking trails. Very beautiful. The beach area was just across the street and it was beautiful. The sites were great. Wasn't too much rukus. You can also bring your dog. No power and outhouses as bathrooms. Will definitely be camping here again
We stayed 2 nights at the rustic area and it’s nice but the only thing I hate is the bathroom (outhouse). It’s so nasty and smells like poop and pee. There is no reason for it to be that bad for what the money they make from us.
Camping at Appleton Rustic Campground is always a nice getaway from the Glamping life. To be able to disconnect and sit around a campfire without the electric and technology all around you, allows you to easily reconnect with nature and enjoy the sounds around you. Rustic camping has always had a place in my heart and soul. Definitely a needed break from the tech in our lives.
This is a quiet little campground. The lake is huge and you can rent kayaks and paddle boards. You can fish and have designated swimming area. They have grills all over by the main lake with picnic tables and volley ball and archery areas. They have about 14 miles of mountain bike trails. They have campsites with or without electricity. The campsite is actually really good size all surrounded by woods. They have an outhouse type bathroom by the sites, but by the main lake entrance they have bathrooms there.
