Great Camping Area with Views of Beautiful Kiluea Caldra Steam Cloud. Glows at Night. Picnic Tables at each campsite and pit Toliet wirh paved pathway. Could use a Covered picnic area. Enjoyed Several Nights there. Nene area as they visited and walked around eating the grass. Saw a Wild Boar 2x along road into area and many pretty birds. Great overlook with a coveted picnic area 5 miles farther down the road with several great hikes.

Remote NPS camp. Windy, cold, rainy, sunny, hot, all in the space of 15 minutes. 4 campsites near parking lot, 5 others a hike in. Remote and surreal landscape. Level area for tent and picnic table on each site. Cell service spotty. No available water. Toilet at parking lot.

There are 4 or 5 walk-in sites at the back that offer more privacy and a more natural setting. It was a bit chilly and rainy but we woke up to a gorgeous rainbow spanning the sky.

Was great place to vamp. Had one toilet in bath rm. building. Bring your own water. No water access. Other than that nice secluded place. You don't need a permit goes on first come first serve on the camping spaces. More of a desert area.
