Nice campsite in general. Quite peaceful despite being close to a main road. The biggest drawback is the lack of shower facilities for those who decide to camp with their tent.

I'd love to give this campground a 5 star review, and perhaps if I had tent camped, I could.

Rented one of the cabins for a night instead. The combined smell of disinfectant and mold was overpowering. The black mold growing on the ceiling and walls was both obvious and concerning. So if you are looking for a cheap place to stay within 3 miles of the national park, rent one of the 10 cabins only if no one in your party are susceptible to respiratory issues.

Considering the fact that Volcano House is bringing in $900+ per day on the rent for these cabins, they really need to maintain them better. Far better.

On the upside: the beds were comfortable, the sheets were clean, there is a double gang power outlet in each cabin, and the location is excellent as far as proximity to Volcano NP. The view of the eruption emissions from the cabin was impressive.

But I wasted $90 to rent the cabin, had to sleep outside to alleviate the serious breathing issues encountered from spending less than 2 hrs inside.

It's simple but perfect. Very clean with nice white sheets towels and comforters

I'm here solo, and it's excellent. Setup is for a family.

2 bunk beds and a queen. Definitely great affordable accommodations for a family couple or solo.

We Love this camp ground (did not go to the cabins)!! Very affordable and does not require a reservation. First come first served. I recommend this area to everyone who enjoys tent camping.

There’s good rangers, and the bathroom facility is kept clean.

I just recommend going when there’s less complainy types 😂

Worst experience, set up our tent and it started to rain so decided to come back the next night. When we returned the next day our air mattress, blankets and accessories were all stolen. Called security and they had us go to the front office and we did get a refund. We packed up in the rain and went home. Very disappointed in what we thought were good people like ourselves trying to have a great weekend. Can't trust anyone.
