About Campground

Hidden Acres Family Campground has been Family owned and operated since 1972. We may be hidden, but that is just one of the many great features that will keep your family coming back year after year. Just sit back, relax and soak up some sun beside the Quinebaug River, or if you’re feeling a bit more adventurous, grab a tube and jump on in! For the anglers among us, grab your pole, cast your line and bring in ‘the big one’. However, if all that water is a bit much, visit our Craft Shop to paint a ceramic piece to bring home. There is always something for everyone at Hidden Acres Family Campground.

Within the campground, you will find so much to do. We offer everything; volleyball, bingo, shuffleboard, badminton, horseshoes, and sing-alongs! Nearby attractions are also plentiful, and include Mystic Aquarium and Seaport, Gillettes Castle, Mohegan Sun, Foxwoods Resort Casino and Connecticut Wineries just to name a few.

Hidden Acres Campground also has a wide variety of amenities to make your stay with us as comfortable as possible. We offer a general store for your camping needs, laundromat, clean showers, free cable, free WiFi and with over 180 wooded sites, you are sure to find just the right spot.

Great location, extremely friendly owners and staff. The wooded campground is great right on the river. Everything is clean and well-maintained. The activities are always fun, too. The only cons, which are very minor, are the wifi isn't always working and the pool is always crowded. Overall, I feel like this is the best campground in the area to visit!!

First rate place. We were passing though and stayed here at a site directly on the river and it was just beautiful. The rest of the place is all seasonal folks and pretty tightly packed in but every seems very happy. A very nice place in all respects. The person checking us in was GREAT! The person checking us out less so. Overall highly recommend. One seasonal camper was rude to the people a few sites away (and for no damn reason), but you get that every where. We did not use the pool or amenities, we planned to try the restaurant but the power was out.

I camped at Hidden Acres on the last night of a 12-day solo bike tour in August 2023 as I made my way back toward NYC. I couldn't have better things to say about the experience. They were so accommodating (especially relative to other campsites in the area that I called), and even kept the office open a few minutes past closing to welcome me and help me get situated.

The campsite was beautiful and I camped right along the river, so fell asleep to the tranquil sounds of the slow-moving water. Would absolutely revisit and recommend!
