Went camping with friends in their camper. Good site. Many activities going on over the weekend. The lake was refreshing. However the pool was crowded. Hard to enjoy the water with the groups playing catch with the football. Had to stay in one spot in order to avoid getting jumped on while they were trying to catch the ball. Lots of little kids in the middle of all this. Football playing probably should be prohibited just for the amount of little kids alone. Overall I enjoyed my weekend. Hadn't been camping in quite the number of years.
If I could give this place a million star review, I would. This place is my Disney World. Very very clean. Grounds well kept. A lot of activities for the whole family. Super friendly and helpful staff. Everyone is so polite. Beautiful views, pool, splash pad and hot tub. Mt family has a great time each year we go. We would recommend this place a million times over. Thanks for the wonderful memories! Looking forward to next year!
This would be an excellent location for family camping, where you want your kids to play with other kids and there's tons of socializing. Unfortunately, we were looking for more of a remote camping experience. The sites are a great size and mostly flat (although very rocky) but they are pretty close together and the place was PACKED with families, including LOTS of kids. It was very loud and definitely not a remote/woodsy experience. We had the most annoying kids at the campsite next to us, and they would run over and try to shake the port-o-john anytime someone was in it. You can walk up the hill to the bathroom/shower area, which is good for longer stays, but the bathrooms were filthy. You can also only do tent or RV camping - no hammocks. I felt like I was at a summer camp. We made the best of it, but being a single/kid-less crowd, we probably will not be staying here again.
Easily the best family camping resort in CT. My family of 6 have done tent camping on water with electric sites here for the past 4 years. Knowing the type of site and the location within the campground along with having basic courtesy for following the guidelines is important to having a great time. Between the lake beach, Oasis restaurant, mini golf, ice cream shop, fishing, and the impressively upgraded pool/hot tub area; there is plenty to do for the whole family without having to leave the site. The themed events and Saturday night bands adds even more fun to a weekend stay here. The staff is friendly and helpful. There also a lot of great CT museums, aquariums, vineyards, breweries, hiking trails, and beaches within a short drive. We’ll continue coming back here every year.
Odetah's new tent policy is a major downgrade to this place! Tents on any site is what made this place special and stood out from the rest. It is turning into an RV park. Having camped here for over a decade I've seen multiple policy changes that negative impacts the character of this place and don't exist at others. The cumulative impact has contributed to my rating. There are better places to go with less restrictions.
