Upscale RV resort with lots of great amenities and activities. We realized our camp site was right next to the main section, so it was noisy and not too private However, just over the hills in either direction from the main buildings the camp became peaceful. The pool was super busy with lots of kids on the 2 weekend days. Since they have 2 pools they may want to consider a pool for kids and a pool for adults. The camp store has all the essentials and the staff was courteous all around. They are a busy campground, so plan ahead to reserve your site.
I went today and enjoyed everything was there. Pool was great and clean jacuzzi was amazing almost fell asleep. The camp site a bit small but still great. Electricity and water at camp site. Bathroom clean and smell good. The pond was the downer should be a bit nicer. I also enjoy sitting at the little river. Please pick up after your self stop leaving bottle at the river stream. Staff were friend and helpful. I also has ice cream and milk shake very good and price very convenient. Also had a little incident a lady was a little racist againt us being latino but what ever it will alway happen remember everyone is equal come on people but we know we better then that . The store had everything you need also sell wood awesome. Security alway driving around and seeing if everything is good. Everything is a couple of min apart love it. The playground was really good for kides so far this is the best camp site in Connecticut recommend it to everyone. They do activity at the pool check it out. The showers are 25 cent for 8 min not bad at all. If ypu friend or family rent the site it is 12 dollar per person that goes. I think after 3 there no one there to charge. The Reviewer 85
We stayed here for 8 days on site 20.
Our site was very level and a decent size. We had trees behind us and plenty of space between us and the site next to us. The only draw back on this site was we had a path/walkway next to us that had alot of foot traffic.
We do not camp with kids, but this place has alot of activities for kids and I would recommend it if you are looking for family friendly.
Staff was friendly, decent store and some nice hiking trails.
What we didn't like, and this was because of the people staying there, was there are tons of barking dogs. We have three, we do not allow them to bark. I don't understand how someone doesn't hear there dog barking for hours. Alot of loose dogs and one person had their dog locked in their truck all day for three days and it barked non stop.
People just walked across our sites, right between fire pit and picnic table. This was constant. This was at no fault to the campground, it is simple camper etiquette.
Campground is close to store if you need to shop.
Reason we gave it 3 stars was sadly the dogs barking and rude transient campers.
I would recommend bringing bikes or golf cart, as it's a very large campground.
You can not get much better scenery for a campground. It is very clean and very well kept. Seasonals definitely like to have a good time, but they were awesome and very welcoming. Sites were huge (we stayed on 615 and 616...highly recommend them). Even though we don't take advantage of the activities usually (we like to relax and have a cocktail) there seemed like there was always something family orientated going on. The only 2 things that made it not a 5 star for me was. 1) The young girl in the office at check in was not very friendly. She was not rude either, but she just didn't make you feel welcome like most other campgrounds. 2) For as huge as the place is they should have more than 5 rental golf carts. It really is the only way to get around. At night you don't want to drive your truck around because there are just to many people.
First off, the place was nice and all. First time camping there. The place is pretty big with enough activities sort’ve. There were a lot of golf carts but it didn’t bother me much. What BOTHERED me was that people want to complain about my dog barking every now and then. But not even as much as the other dogs around the site. It was the first night and my dog received a complaint. By the end , he got BANNED. HOW DOES a DOG get banned from a “dog-friendly” campsite. he wasn’t much of a bother at all. It’s nature, nature is not always quiet. It’s about the experience. The old lady who appears to look like she needs to be retired by now , was a bit un called for, and a bit rude. She invaded my personal space and took the key from a family members golf cart while we were in it. Due to not being “Old enough” but did not give a chance to show ID. Overall, I sortve understand the concern she had, BUT there was no need for the horrible service and way of speaking that she was delivering.
