About Campground

In 2019, three generations of our RV traveling family fell in love with the beauty and heart of Kanab, UT. We sold everything, took a leap of faith and bought acreage in Kanab. Then we set out to develop a new kind of RV park- one that we yearned for on the road- where natural beauty meets luxury- inspired by our travels across the globe.

Just three miles from the center of Kanab, 18 premiere, pull-through RV sites and 10 tent campsites sit on 40 acres of untouched sagebrush. With unobstructed views in all directions Dark Sky guests will enjoy the ever changing vista across the Red Cliffs, Vermillion Cliffs, and the Kaibab Plateau. Epic sunrises and sunsets disappear into the darkest skies and brightest stars in Southern Utah. Dark Sky RV Campground is a new way to RV.

Every generously sized RV site is a pull through with full hookups, each with its own stunning view. Tent campsites are nestled among the sagebrush, have a softer tent pad and endless views.

Our mission is:

To preserve our utopia of undisturbed nature and the darkest sky possible. To provide our guests an inspiring, rejuvenating, relaxing atmosphere. To spread positive vibes throughout the world- one happy camper at a time.

Be certain you can keep any reservation that you make. We tried to cancel our reservation 19 days in advance of our stay for health reasons, and the park refused to refund any of our $700 deposit! They make more $ when people cancel their reservations by selling the same space twice. Borderline fraud.

The owners offered a safe olive branch by offering to apply our $700 deposit to a subsequent stay. Not likely, when health reasons prevent any future visits to higher elevations. We gave 19 days notice of cancellation and would have been satisfied with half of our deposit refunded. If we had only booked our stay for 29 days, I guess we would have received a 50% refund. The policy is just shady, and there is no question that it's been designed in such a way as to make money on cancellations. Next stop FTC.

Wonderful welcome by the owner at the front gate. We did not have reservations and were lucky to get a spot. The staff is super helpful and accommodating. Did I mention we were greeted at the gate with an ice cold beer? As luck would have it, we happened to arrive on "Beer Friday."

This group of people put "service" back into customer service! On top all of the great services, Dark Sky RV Campground is close to amazing outdoor activities, and close to the town with a grocery store and many diverse restaurant choices. This Campground is amazing.

I picked this place out because of the great reviews and we weren't disappointed! At first we thought, where are we going there, there will definitely be nothing more. But then came this charming place! Unfortunately, the sanitary facilities are in a not-saving container, but inside it's absolutely beautiful. Maybe the container can be dressed up? There is a great terrace for every place! With a cozy carpet on the floor, deck chairs, hammock and seating. and a magnificent view of the surroundings and the starry sky. I can only recommend the place!

This place is beautiful. Easy to find and very welcoming. We stayed for a few nights and loved it. The sites all have a great view of the stars. The bathrooms have heated floors with an indoor and outdoor shower. Even though we were the only ones at the park at the time, they still kept everything very clean. Met 2 of the owners and the hosts, very welcoming. All of them gave us many recommendations of hikes and places to go to in the area. If you need some ideas or advice they can definitely help! The store next to the terrace has snacks, beverages and even farm fresh eggs, which were delicious. They have a sign which tells you different ways to pay and how much, they do accept Venmo! Their resident cat, Clea is adorable and very friendly. Highly recommend this place!

Love this place!! Beautiful property. Clea was nice to have around too. She meowed at our door to be let in. Very friendly kitty. The sky was beautiful at night, and when it snowed in the morning, it was just breath taking. So quiet and the red mountain across the street exquisite. The heated bathroom floors were amazing. It was nice to take a shower in a warm room. 😌 Can't recommend this place enough!
