About Campground

Cordova Pass Picnic Area and Campground offer picnicking, tent camping only , hiking, and fishing. The area is usually open sometime in May until early October, depending on snow conditions. Access to Levy-Krier (#1392), West Peak (#1390) and Salazar (#1392a) trails.

Directions

From La Veta, travel south on SH 12, 17 miles to the tope of Cucharas Pass. Turn left (east) onto C.R. 46 and travel 6 miles to the campground at the top of Cordova Pass.

Not a bad trailhead but other than a vault toilet and a few dispersed camp sites it doesn't have much to offer.

Little pass and place that not a lot know about. Not ment for small vehicles, although it can be done. Beautiful and breathtaking environment!
