We stayed from May 20-May 26, 2023. This has always been one of my favorite places to stay since I was 6 years old and now, I am 63. We really enjoyed our stay. The service was not very good but to be fair the day we arrived the former owner for the last 7 years was completing the sale to a new owner. There was a new reservation and register in use and some confusion as to the new owner's management. The new owner purchased the Stonewall Lodge and RV Park and the Shopping Bag Store and Cafe. It was a bit hectic and we arrived the week before the Memorial Day weekend which is the big kickoff for the summer in Weston, Stonewall, Lake Monument, North Lake, Cuchara and La Veta Colorado. It rained the whole time we were there but still enjoyed fishing at Lake Monument. My wife and I had the Lakes pretty much to ourselves as well as the resort. The Cafe was opened only 3 days while we were there and only from 11:00 a.m.-3:00 pm. I caught several Rainbow trout at 21 inches, 16 inches and 14 1/2 inches. I released 7 or 8 that were between 12 to 13 inches. I fished for 3 days as Lake Monument is only 4.1 miles from the Stonewall Lodge and RV park. We saw a large herd of Elk, 30 to 40 deer at the Lodge, and even a baby black bear who crossed the road at night on our way back from eating at the Dog Bar in Cuchara about a 20 min drive from Stonewall. This is a must-visit place to eat and the small town of Cuchara is just beautiful. If you head there before dark you can see some of the burn scars remains from the 2018 Spring Creek Fire. Which is very sad. I am sure that before the summer is over things will get back to normal at the Stonewall Lodge and RV Park. We were able to say goodbye to the former owners who have provided a wonderful experience over the last 7 years. I have known several of the owners since my youth and this place has remained a wonderful experience for me since I was a young Child. We will be back. We plan to return in Late September 2023 if all goes well and the new owner does not change things too much. You should also check out the Pickett Wire store. They have Texas Style BBQ Bill and Tina Hallmark are the owners and it is the only place you can buy beer if that is what you like. The Stonewall Lodge is no longer going to sell Ice, or beer by the six-pack. Only by the bottle. So be ready that we are not big drinkers so no big deal for us. You will enjoy your stay...Don't miss out on this secret gem in Colorado.

It is a bit run down and the power pedestal where my RV was parked had the wiring loose above ground and the pedestal itself was about to fall over. We called ahead and said we were going to be later than expected, about 8: 30pm and they said no problem we'll be here till 9:00. We got there at 8:15 and no one was around to tell us our spot was. It's poorly lit but thanks to some other patrons of the park we found our spot. Water pressure is really low but usable. I understand they are now under new ownership and hope they correct the code issues and maybe add some lighting.

Very poor stay for us, the roof leaked during a rain storm also the mattress was so worn out you rolled to middle made a very uncomfortable rest or no rest and only one coffee cup and very few utensils. I will make different arrangements next time.

Not my cup of tea. I had a full hookup but the space was tiny and it was a tight fit. The 5th wheel park next to me had the slide out open and I could reach out and touch it from my top step.

WiFi was up/down with poor signal and there is no cell service.

There are many humming birds feeders and humming birds in the park but this also attracts bears at night.

It is a pretty area though. However, I definitely won't be back to this spot though. I would much rather have more space between the next RV.
