Very nice RV park, close to the beach. It has full hook ups and lady at the small shop was so nice.
Location location location! This is a quaint older campground that was build before every RV had 5 slide outs, so the spots are maybe a little narrow. But the location is everything. Minutes from Fort Bragg and Mendocino. Tons of neat beaches in the area, lots of great restaurants and quaint shops. From the campground, the beach is right across the street and the Point Cabrillo Light House is about a 2 mile walk that takes you along gorgeous coast line including hidden treasures like the waterfall at Frolic Cove. The camp store is stocked with everything you need and more all at reasonable prices. The restrooms and showers were spotlessly clean and the staff was friendly and very helpful. Would definitely come stay again and recommend to all my friends. They also have cabins to rent if you aren't into camping.
First time staying at their Caspar location, normally stay at the Westport location. Almost everything about the trip was perfect, except for the parking situation at their upper campground tent area. IF you are camping in spot 18, be prepared to not be able to park near your campsite. My son and I only stayed for 2 days- Day 1 was okay with parking, I did get blocked in, but the large group staying at the group site did their best to park all of their vehicles. It's a pretty narrow road, so to head into town, had to back out which isn't a problem for me, but could be problematic for others. Day 2, morning time, was not terrible but not fun, again had to back completely before I could find a spot to turn around. Day 2 in the evening time, after a day on the beach and extremely sunburnt, was a huge letdown. I had no place to park within a reasonable walking distance. The large group of people parked in front of the portable bathrooms, so even to use the bathroom, it was a walk. Luckily I decided to park my vehicle even further away as another car blocked about 14 vehicles in. It was just a hazard to allow that many vehicles park in such a small area. Other than parking, location was good, clean, staff was good, store definitely overpriced, but that's to be expected.
Location was everything, cute little store
Unfortunately the rv sites were extremely tight no privacy and had garage everywhere in them. Bathrooms were always dirty, showers were even dirty as well with a ton of sand. If it wasn’t for the cute little beach right across the street we would have just packed up and left
We had a blast at Caspar Beach RV Park! The bottom line, this park is going to be what you make of it. Sure, the sites and parking are tight, but everyone we encountered there was courteous and made it work. If you're traveling with a small camper or van, you really shouldn't have much trouble at all. We stayed on Site #48 and loved it! It backs up to a little creek, and there was space behind our camper for setting up chairs, a fire and enjoying the scenery. We had plenty of space and have definitely camped on smaller sites! In all, it seemed like everyone was just there to have fun...the community vibe was great. The bathrooms and showers were relatively clean for peak season, the employees were super nice and welcoming, the store was convenient and the location is gorgeous. We are looking forward to returning next year!
