About Campground

Westport Union-Landing State Beach covers over 3 miles of rugged and scenic coastline, with 86 campsites available in three campgrounds on the bluffs overlooking the Pacific Ocean. The magnificent vistas, sunsets and tree-covered mountains in the background provide an inspiring backdrop to the park and challenges to both amateur and professional photographers.

The park was named for two early day communities. Westport, a sawmill town, is still in existence and Union Landing now consists of only a few buildings. Both of these settlements were famous for supplying lumber and railroad ties, and Tan Oak bark to the schooners which anchored offshore. The schooners were loaded with forest products by means of intricate cable tramways and chutes from the bluffs.

Directions

The beach is located 19 miles north of Fort Bragg on Highway 1 and 2 miles north of Westport.

Only hightlight for this over-night camper was the ocean view and that the night stars were incredibly bright...

- $35 a night (3-15-2021) with no hook up or shower.

- I've seen better outhouses out in the middle of a forest, then the nasty brick "bathroom" on the RV side of the park. It was FILTHY.

- If you have small children or pets. Be aware of the shear drop off cliff / bluffs on the RV end of the park.

Only recommendation I can make for this park, is to a "star watcher". As like I mentioned before. The stars on my visit where incredible and the high light of my stay. Just bring your own port-a-potty!!

We had a blast. Very beautiful and when it got dark on July 1st Fort Bragg had a great fireworks show. I think everyone for miles around was lined along the highway and every parking in the area was filled.

It was a native American gathering, where a bunch of people walked 10 miles to the ocean! And there were prayer dancing, and healing. It was so incredibly awesome and moving.

The beach was beautiful and the weather was calm. Loved it!
