Remains open through the winter season -- no snow plow or other services. One of Mt. Hough Ranger District's "non-fee" campgrounds, Deanes Valley Campground is located 4 miles SW of Quincy, off of Bucks Lake Rd. in the Meadow Valley area. A few sites are creekside, with a total of 7 campsites that operate on a "first come-first serve" basis. There is a vault toilet, but no piped water. The campground accommodates both tents and trailers.

Great place to set up base to hike, snowshoe. Only others around us were a few coyotes.
Deanes is majestic. The land of tall trees. It is isolated and off the grid, but worth the effort. Campgrounds have firepits with hinged grates as well as ursine resistant food storage containers. No running water except for the chuckling streams.
Some sources claim to have seen the elusive Sasquatch in these pristine forests where men rarely venture, but I do not believe those tales. At least, not until night falls...
