I feel duped by Camptel Poconos!!! I was really impressed by the photos and description on the Camptel Pocono website, so I booked a trip for a weekend with my wife and kids after reading the reviews. It’s borderline false advertisement!!! It’s a ghost town with CAUTION tape everywhere and no one seems to work there after you check in. NONE of the activities or amenities were open. The hot tubs were either out of order or still being built. The units aren’t as nice as in the pictures and seem poorly manufactured. They creaked everywhere you stepped and then echo. Worst part was our last night and it started to rain when we found our unit’s roof had a BAD LEAK in the corner!!! I tried to find anyone in the whole place to help. The only person there was someone in the restaurant who didn’t know what to do or who to call. I just threw everyone in the car and left for home. I’ve called multiple times to speak with anyone in charge or even the owners at Camptel Pocono. STILL NO RESOLUTION or refund for the night lost.

My husband and I stayed here this past weekend for our honeymoon. I just have to start off by saying that this stay was incredible. From the service, to our tiny home, to the surroundings and everything we did. Bill & Melinda are absolutely wonderful and made our stay much more enjoyable. I am so happy I found this place and can not wait to bring our boys back to experience all the fun we had. 10/10 RECOMMEND!

SCAM!!! AVOID!!! I was supposed to stay here and they cancelled the week of due to frozen pipes during a snowstorm, which is unfortunate but understandable. They said they would refund us right away, and it has been over a month now and 50 phone calls later, and still no refund. You usually just go straight to voicemail (which is always full so you cannot leave a message), and when you do get in contact with someone at the desk they say they are busy and will get back to you, but never call back. Terrible experience and will definitely not be rescheduling our stay here. Hope this doesn't happen to anyone else.

Very bad experience. Our original plan was to stay here for 2 days while returning from a trip to New York. We never stayed here because my wife had to return to work early which necessitated that we cancel the last few days of our vacation. We cancelled the reservation at least 6 weeks in advance and received an email confirmation of the cancellation. They did not refund our money. We've called several times and each time a man told us they would process our refund. 6 weeks later we still have no refund.

We were driving nearby on the first part of our now shorter vacation and decided to stop and see them in person. The door was locked and nobody came out even though there was at least one person visible inside. There was a phone number posted on the door for guests to call if they needed assistance. We called that number (which happens to be the same number we used when we called them previously) but now we get a recording that tells us that the mailbox is full and will not take any more messages.

I would not, under any circumstances, ever recommend this establishment to anyone.

Camptel is a hidden gem in the Poconos. My husband and I just stayed for 3 nights last week and have stayed at least 4 other times over the last few years. We've stayed in different cabins each visit and have never been disappointed. They are so cozy and unique, and immaculate every time. This last visit was our best yet. The staff was so incredibly responsive and so welcoming. Canteen had some delicious food and staff was so kind. Already booked our next visit in a couple months. Looking forward to the spring weather at Camptel!
