Located east of Shasta Lake, these remote campsites offer the perfect spot to relax. Forested and shady, this is a perfect home base for your OHV adventures! Be aware, Fenders Ferry is a rough, unimproved dirt road. There is no lake access from this facility. This campground is very popular in the fall during hunting season.
From I-5, take Highway 299 East 31 miles to Fenders Ferry Road (Road 27). On Fenders Ferry Road, drive approximately 18 miles.
Not my fav campsite but it did have clean bathrooms and a sink to wash dishes. Absolutely no privacy and the campsites are right next to each other. For 35.00 per night it's not worth it. I've stayed at places for 19.00 that were much nicer. It didn't help that many campers here are also lacked basic human etiquette although there were many nice people as well.
Beautiful campground set among the redwoods along the Eel River. Facilities are well maintained, bathrooms and showers are clean and well kept. Most campsites are wide, flat, and well separated.
I will not hesitate to camp here again!
Beautifully kept campsites. Bathrooms and showers were huge and very clean. Tons of great hiking. The visitor center was so charming and the hosts so welcoming. All nestled in the most gorgeous redwood Grove, with river access as well. We met many families who had been coming to the park for 20+ years. We can't wait to do the same.
