Nice small park on the Gulf of Mexico. Easy access and a pleasant drive from US -90. On a recent visit to Lafayette my daughter mentioned that she had never seen the gulf of mexico. This was the closest public access we could find . We drove from Lafayette and it was a little over an hour to get there. Hardly any traffic on Sunday afternoon.
One of my favorite campgrounds for no other reason than quietly watching the coast, birds, oil rigs etc. And it Was $14 a night couple years back for full hookups. Right on the water, just a few sites. Gets hit hard by hurricanes and floods. Nothing else out there so stock up before you go. Call and check conditions. And Watch out for the local gator!
Burns Point Park is an absolutely delightful campground. The camp host, Jimmy, would do just about anything for you. It's a bit of a drive to get here but the views are worth it.
Burns Point Campground is the BEST Campground in Louisiana, Jimmy and Bill are the greatest caretakers around, they always keep the campground clean and comfortable, and they are very friendly and knowledgeable about the area and the fishing, prices are very reasonable also, $15.00 a night for Campers/ R.V's and $10.00 a night for tents, clean bathrooms and showers, very nice playground for the kids, highly recommended for camping for the whole family, the gulf of Mexico in front of you and the Bayou behind you, can't get any better than this 😀 👍
