BREC's Farr Park Equestrian Center and RV Campground is one of the areas largest and most versatile centers for horse enthusiasts. It features indoor, outdoor, and arena (both lighted), 256 stalls, a cross-country event course, horse trails and RV campground.
The facility is located only two miles from the LSU campus and six miles from downtown Baton Rouge attractions. The campground is adjacent to the Mississippi River, located on historic River Road. It is easily accessible from Interstate 10. The campground has 108 sites (many pull-throughs) and is equipped with water and power hookups and restroom facilities.

Because of its proximity to downtown, we wanted to stay at this campground. It is a wide open grass field with hookups in the middle of the sites. We were not aware that it wasn't full hook ups, so no sewer. The sites seem fairly level although the one we had picked had a hump. It is a satellite friendly campground: very few trees. We decided not to stay because I like to walk and there really isn"t any place nearby to do so, plus the neighborhood doesn't feel safe at all, to put it nicely. We had to give up convenience over safety and picked a much nicer albeit pricier campground about 10 miles out. Also, at $35 dollars, this field is overpriced. Not worth it, unless you love horses or have anything to do with LSU which is a stone's throw.
Great location for cycling the levee, close to downtown, and Tiger Stadium. Campground is clean, basic, and quiet. Located next to field of horses. Includes 30A, 50a, and water. No sewer connection, no bathrooms or shower house. Rode our bike downtown about 5 miles easy on the levee.
Stayed a week. Large areas to park. Beautiful scenery. Wake up to watching horses playing in the field. Bathrooms were up at the front, so had to drive to the bath house n bathrooms. They were clean and spacious. Only issue we had is the whole week we were there, garbage was not collected. Each site has individual garbage cans. Most of everyone's was full the whole time, worried about animals. I do recommend this place for location, and having a spacious area to set up outside. No picnic table at our site, but there were some at other spots. Faculty was curious and kind. Very close to JSU.
