Beautiful setting with thousands of various waterfowl flying by. Oh, and a cute, friendly cat hanging out by cabin 8.
This was our first time vacationing there. The cabin was amazing and very roomy for the 6 of us. We were snake to bring our dog. The walking trails were fun and plenty of exercise. Fishing was convenient and right at the door step if you get a cabin on the lake. Only downfall is that the splash pad could be better with shade covering for the kids. We were prepared going with our own food and supplies. The kitchen is well stocked with the cookery and eating tools you need. Dollar store isn’t far if need or forgot anything. Such a relaxing environment we didn’t want to leave. We will definitely be back.
This place was amazing. We visited in December, so it was the off season, but we were still able to rent canoes and do some bird watching. The night sky was great and the cabins were very nice and convenient to everything in the park. The ranger programs at the arboretum were very well done and Eric was very patient with our inquisitive group.
Chicot was absolutely beautiful. We rented a cabin near the water and had an amazing time for my birthday weekend. Canoeing on the lake was so peaceful and calming. Mosquitoes not so great at dusk but nevertheless we still had a great time! Bring your mosquito spray and make sure to see as much of the park as you can. Very relaxing and people are great. Cabin was top notch!
