About Campground

Formerly known as Frenchman's Wilderness Campground, Cajun Heritage R.V. Park is nestled in the middle of the largest wetlands swamp in the United States called the Atchafalaya Basin. The Atchafalaya Basin is also the center of Cajun Country and that is exactly what we promote...our Cajun Heritage! Whether you enjoy a tranquil kayak or canoe trip exploring our beautiful cypress swamps or dancing the Saturday night away to a local Cajun band...you will never forget your stay or the Cajun hospitality of Cajun Heritage R.V. Park!

Great place! Looks more like a state park. Beautiful trees, so you may not get satellite reception. Spacious gravel sites. We used it as an overnight travel stop, but a longer stay would be very pleasant. We have a 40' ft DP which fit, with our towed car, very well on site 89 without unhooking the car. If you go into site 89 keep to the extreme right side (outside dual on the grass) and you will be level. Use caution coming out for the culvert as you turn left on the paved road. It's tight but just turn wide and you're OK. Propane available.

The people are great! The small store and office are very nice.

We will be back.

We stayed here over Thanksgiving weekend and had the best time! They hosted a Thanksgiving dinner and on Saturday night there was a band. All the workers are super helpful and friendly (shout out to Norma and Kenny), the sites are spacious from each other and very convenient off of I-10.

We loved that the park isn’t full of permanent residents junking up the place. We look forward to staying here again!
