Nestled under Live Oak trees, Maxie's Campground was founded in 1968 by Maxie and Veda Girouard. The campground was born from their love of the RV lifestyle. We have been in business for 52 years serving Broussard and Acadiana, also referred to as "Cajun Country". We are conveniently located on US 90 in Broussard, Louisiana, next door to Arceneaux Park and 5 minutes from St. Julien Park and Sports Complex. I don’t know where to begin with how amazing this place is! Jason the owner/manager was absolutely amazing getting us worked in for a spot! He’s very responsive and super nice! He’s the type of person you can have a conversation with and not have to worry about what will happen next. He keeps the grounds, sites and the laundry room and bathhouses super clean! The laundry room is super nice and up to date! And that shower house…boy let me tell you something! It was absolutely amazing! One of best ones we have been too! It’s always clean and smells nice! The campground itself is just really peaceful even with the highway beside it! It’s in a convenient location and you can’t beat that! All of the other campers/residents are nice and respectful! If you’re just needing a night to stay or even a month, we highly recommend Jason and Maxie’s for that place! The prices are great and you can’t beat the location!
We arrived 3 days ago only planning for a overnight stay. We were greeted by Brant and his customer service was so good we decided to stay longer. He allowed us to go through the site and choose wherever we preferred and allowed us to stay on the nice concrete pad adjacent the laundry and washrooms and gave us the Passport America rate. At $17.50 for full hook up and excellent washrooms and very high speed internet with the tower right next to us it was by far our best bang for the buck stay to date since we entered Texas from Mexico. We were a little concerned being close to the highway but in the evening the traffic died down considerably and once inside our unit ready for bed it wasn’t bad at all and we slept peacefully. Theres a Walmart Supermarket thats across the highway a couple blocks away which was convenient also. The Tabasco factory on Avery Island is close by this area also. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to everyone else that passes through Broussard or Lafayette area.
We had a wonderful stay at Maxie’s Jason was very helpful and let us pick from 2 spots. We enjoyed his recommendation for Fezzo’s restaurant. We stayed 2 nights in a 40 Ft 5th wheel
Camp grounds have plenty of trees. Area is kept clean and the shower house is clean with warm/hot water.
Everyone is friendly and pleasant. Road is noisy but after a couple of days it doesn’t bother you. It may be normal but I come from a rural area with an occasional tractor on the road. The owner cares for the place personally and takes a lot of responsibility and pride.
Plus- area is close to shopping and is walkable.
We only stayed at this campground for one night as were just passing though on our way to Texas. It’s a nice campground with laundry ($4 per load) and a bath house. There is a small stream/drainage ditch behind some of the sites. Jason, the owner, was very friendly and offered suggestions on things we could do in the area. There was a strong WiFi signal which we really appreciated. Our site had a large cement pad which was great. The only negative with this campground is the traffic noise from the highway but we just turned our fan on to drown out the noise and had no problem sleeping. (Jan. 2024)
