Free camping and easy access roads. Plenty of room on drivable hard pack beach sand for any big rig.
When we went it was very peaceful, clean, and plenty of space. Atvs and vehicles are allowed in the beach. No charge for beach parking. Overnight camping is allowed. The only downside is there aren't any restrooms or porta potties anywhere on the flats. Pets are also allowed.
This was a great beach camp spot! We stayed 2 nights in a 26' TT. The weather was in the upper 60s and a bit windy, which wasn't bad as it turns out because the day we left it was still and there were thousands of mosquitos! Beware though, our things started to rust in the short time we were there. Can ride bikes on the sand and drive. Reason for 4 stars was some hoodlums were racing up and down the beach first night we were there at 11:45pm.
This started out to be such a great spot! I got here Christmas Eve and all was quiet and peaceful and the waves sounded lovely.
But the next day, Christmas Day, oh my goodness…
All the quads came in and people, mostly 20s and younger, were racing as fast as they could up-and-down the beach and kicking up sand right outside the doors of everyone on the dune side of the road. So dangerous! It was worrisome to sit outside with all the racing going on. And sitting inside when you're at the beach is no fun at all. Leaving early, see what else we can find. If we ever decide to come back, it'll be during the week and definitely not a holiday.
nice spot. weather it be just to hang out in nature or to camp on the beach. took a road trip cross country and stopped here for 3 nights with some friends, had a blast. we all took a dip, did yoga, played music, eat and had good nights of sleep. walked around and found some nice shells as a keepsake. would recommend and highly look forward to coming back. take the ferry and hit the town for some music too.
