Yes there is some trash around but it's still a good camping spot. No amenities but there are no fees either. On Saturday night you can catch some dirt track action 6 miles up the road.
Stayed 6 days, not hunting season in Jan. 2021. Just a fairly large circle. You pick your spot shady trees or sunny open. Great cell service (Verizon). Very quiet, only one other camper there. Could not let dog off lead even when I was the only one there as the road leading to this place had moderate traffic but they drove fast. We collected two bags of trash from the area. Trash bins and port-a-potty set up during deer season but not off season. Pack in/pack out.
Nice out of the way spot to boondock. It was raining while we were there so it was a bit muddy. There are two concrete slabs you can park on of some grassy areas with or without trees.
Back again still no trash pick up this time someone ran over the toilet don't think I will be back for a while
Neat and clean with 2 people camping when I visited. One was hunting hogs the other was just enjoying the outdoors. This is a secluded area within a pine forest right off of a road with little traffic. Interconnecting trails meander through the forest. I was told these trails access the Lone Star Trail. Lots of briars in the undergrowth so its can be tough going unless you are on a cleared path. I saw some birds but not much other wildlife in this mature pine area.
