The owners are the most kindest, gentlest, soft spoken, hardest resort owners I’ve ever met anywhere. Let alone the history, (read the “about us” on their website) beauty, wildlife, ducks, birds, eagles right on the Skagit river with an excellent boat launch with massive safe boat trailer parking right in the watchful eyes of the owners office. The nicest coolest sea breeze and smell during the summer hot months. You’re in great hands for camping, duck hunting/ 16 public duck hunting blinds scattered on 200 wildlife acre refuge, boat launching, and walking distance to the Fir Island trails very popular and safe. 7 minutes to downtown Laconner. Come enjoy yourself, it’s amazing. You’re lucky I told you. 😊

May 26, 2022

We stayed at Blake’s two times prior to this and enjoyed our stay. This is not a normal RV park, there are long time residence, and it has an industrial feel, however river sites if you get one, are the big draw and that’s why we liked it.

Our third stay was on May 24, 2022, I called the resort and requested a reservation for our 20-foot Winnebago with full hook up for 3 persons and a small dog. Since I was familiar with the resort, I specifically asked for site #23 and further described the site to the representative so there would be no mistake. She said OK, and I paid for two nights in full with my credit card.

On May 25th when we arrived site #23 was occupied by someone else. We were disappointed, so. the representative proceeded to show us two other spots, and only one alongside the river but only a partial hook-up, no sewer. We chose the river spot; since that was our reason in coming, with the understanding we could use the dumping station during our stay since we had already paid for two nights with a full hook-up spot.

On May 26, 2022, I went to the office for instructions where to dump and the women at the desk told me I had to pay an additional $18 to dump. I explained to her that we had already paid for a full-service site and should not have to pay anything else despite our need to go through the inconvenience to disconnect and reposition. I emphasized we had paid in advance and the price was set for a full hookup site which we did not get. She refused to agree and became combative and argumentative I told her this was ridiculous and if that was the game, she was playing we’d never come back and would refuse to pay this additional charge. She then instantly changed her story and said her reason for the additional charge, was now going to be for a third person. The website clearly states you can have 4 persons max no additional charge!

Since I on my initial reservation request, she was told we had three people and a dog on our original reservation request, that was ridiculous. She changed her story midstream and just wanted to gouge us for more money.

After I told explicitly, I was not paying she charged my credit card anyway for this additional amount which is now in dispute. When I returned to our campsite, a fellow camper overheard me relating this story to my friends and came over to relate to me his similar horror story.

Spare yourself the anger and frustration and stay away. We were hoping for a pleasant weekend camping trip and this woman ruined it, so NEVER AGAIN! This is not the way to treat customers or run your business.

Stayed here for a few weeks. The complaints here are totally valid. It did look like a prison camp and the owners are difficult to work with. Record any and all interactions with them because they will lie to you, they will "forget" things, and they will yell and scream at you if you hold them to their own word. I recorded every interaction from booking all the way through exit and they did all kinds of shady things like:

- Charged me an extra $50 when I arrived after telling me I had a nice RV (I guarantee it was economic profiling)

- Pretended to not speak English very well to excuse bad communication. (As a 2nd generation Korean this trope quickly fell apart for Jung) she communicates fine but pretends to have difficulty understanding you just to undercut you.

- Slapped my hand several times in anger and when I told her not to hit me she told me she was allowed to hit me because it's her space.

- Jung canceled a debit card payment before it went through then said she "called the bank" who said I entered the wrong PIN. Oddly enough banks don't handle CC transactions since they're handled through an intermediary 🤔.

- When I tried to pay for my second month Jung demanded I use my bank card to pay and I refused because I didn't trust them. Paul threatened to kick me out and said he'd call the sheriff to "restrain me" and when I told him he didn't have that right Jung screamed "I don't care about your US rights!" (Again, I have the recording of this entire exchange)

- The dock is also in illegal shape and they won't fix it because according to Paul it isn't worth his time to fix. He says he can make $1000 a day on his excavator so why would he fix the dock? They've had boats break off the dock before. It's unsafe, gross, and just an eyesore.

- One guy drove his car into the ditch on the road one night and left it there until I called the sheriff the next day. Paul pulled him out with an excavator and they left garbage in the road and the irrigation ditch for quite some time afterwards and it was gross. I'll attach a picture.

I also agree with all the statements about the garbage. It's way too small for the amount of sites and they only emptied it twice when I was there despite it being full 95% of the time.

In short this place is run by miserable people who clearly inherited the business from a relative and have zero pride in their space and zero respect for the folks who pay them money. Some of the folks who stay there are friendly though some are convicted violent felons, all I spoke with are unhappy with the management.

Hands down a great spot to stay at. Right on the water with a cool breeze that comes off of it. Definitely feels nice when it's hot out. Owners are fantastic people, the wife had me in a monthly spot in about a week an half. Also she kept me updated the whole time when one was going to be available. The husband also is great guy he came down an moved my trailer for me an gave me hand setting it up. The site is super quiet, especially at night you can almost hear a pen drop. The people that stay here are super friendly an helpful. Also this is a super safe spot left my truck unlocked multiple times even left the keys in it, an not one time was any thing messed with. The owners definitely do a good job on making this a safe environment. All around a good place to stay at an pretty much will recommend it to any of my friends an family.

When I called to make my reservation, they said they had a spot that would fit out travel trailer. When we got there, it was next to a large storage unit and on the other side it had a long fence. We barely were able to get our truck and trailer into the site. We couldn't hook up our hose for septic because we couldn't get close enough to the hook up. We stayed that night and left the next day. I called them to get our money back for the next three days that we were going to stay and they would not reimburse us. The camp ground was gross. Would not recommend this place at all.
