I understand that the campground is for sale. I understand they don’t have employees to maintain it. But I disagree with the price being as high as the campgrounds who are actually offering services and amenities. When I made the phone reservation with Rita, she even mentioned having a pool and all. Of course, the kids were disappointed when we saw a pond instead of the pool. I asked for reimbursement of part of our stay due to false information. Unfortunately, I don’t recommend staying in a place where you pay that much for the fire wood.
Thank you for a wonderful and stress free stay! The new owner Thomas will do great things here. He went out of his way to personally deliver wood and answer any questions I had. I will definitely be returning!
This is our second time staying. The new managements team is very very nice and accommodating. They are breathing new life into this RV park. Great spot in NY for a quick getaway, quiet and clean. Will visit again! Recommend to stay here with family groups etc and its great that it is open year round! There are not necessarily rooms but RV spots soi give it 5 star for space for larger rigs and the full hook up accommodations, even has Heated water spicket for winter camping!
My cat and I both enjoyed the two nights we spent here. I have work in the city two days a week and live in my van full time so it was great to spend a few nights upstate with full hookups and in a quiet and peaceful place that is close to lovely towns like Warwick and Florida. One of the few campgrounds I found that are open in the area during winter. The staff were very helpful and attentive and Thomas was very friendly, communicative and offered a good deal for extending. Only thing I would say is that I didn’t have much network coverage (T-Mobile) and I had some slight issues with their WiFi hence the 4 stars but managed at the end with Thomas’s attention and help. Will definitely come back sometime :)
Black Bear RV Park is a really nice place to camp & get away. I saw a lot to do there & beautiful scenery but we did go in mid winter & of course pool & such weren’t open. Tom Vegas was absolutely wonderful. We ran into a bit of trouble with our RV & he was able to help us immediately. It is definitely a place I’d love to go back to when all the activities are open. Tom we can’t thank you enough for all your help.
