The 4,315-acre park makes Ward Pound Ridge Reservation the county’s largest park. With its varied terrain and landscapes and miles of wooded trails, the park provides a variety of activities in all seasons. There are areas for picnicking, lean-to camping, fishing and cross-country skiing.
The largest park in Westchester, and being my first time here I can only offer a small glimpse of the beauty of the park. We walked an 8 mi loop in the snow, the trails are very well marked, and there are surprises at almost every turn. I will definitely be going back to enjoy this park in the other seasons in addition to the winter
immense parks with loads of variety. you could visit 100 times and still not see every part of it. beyond beautiful!
Beautiful place. Especially in the autumn. Also much bigger than we thought it would be. There's plenty of trails to take and we found the trail markers incredibly helpful. In fact this has to be one of the best marked trails we've seen in a long time. Really made hiking enjoyable. Loved that this was also a dog friendly location and even has a scenic overlook and some caves to check out. We enjoyed our visit and would love to come back to check out the rest of the place. Note that there is a $ 10 parking fee but it's so worth it.
Had only previously been in the warmer months and what a treat the winter is there (photos from late Jan). Very few other bikers however you never felt too isolated. Trails are well kept even in the snow, beautifully maintained facilities. Love this place!
