This place is terrible. I drove 4.5hrs to stay here and they wouldn't let me bring my vehicle in because of some RV certification that was not listed on the website at the time of booking. I don't even have an RV... Snob nosed staff and a total waste of time. They wouldn't let us stay here in my conversion van, which is NOT an RV, unless I had a tent. Whoever made these rules designed this to make it hard for people to stay here. The whole place is rundown and beat up anyways... Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else!
AVOID THIS PLACE! IT SUCKS! STAFF WAS HORRIBLE!
Staff, very good!
Management, very good! Grounds, need a lot of upgrades, very few 50 amp sewer sites and even more limited after bad storm. They are trying though, so hopefully future visits will offer more plentiful sewer sites.
Some of the policies were a bit off putting having paid $15,000.00 for my membership, such as having to pay to store our tow dolly, this is the first TT park that ever charged us for that. Paying up to $20. for a amazon/fed ex package! Most TT parks don't charge for Amazon deliveries, but if they do, they charge $5/package and waive it if it is medical or RV parts.
Having to pay $20 for honey wagon services when sewer sites are unavailable.
But the worse abuse of overcharging is $20/pp for visitors. This is not a theme park and to have to pay to have our children visit us for lunch I think is unreasonable. Now if they were using the pool, then I can understand $5/pp.
They definitely try and keep the park clean. They have a wonderful fully stocked camp store. The staff is very friendly and do their best to accommodate. I just don't agree with all the extra charges.
Fabulous, well spaced campground. The grounds are very, very well kept. Great views of rushing rivers from several places on the grounds. The staff went above and beyond (Beth especially) for my family. Everyone here from the people at the gate, maintenance, activities staff, restaurant owner, EVERYONE was great. Welcoming and fun. They plan weekend activities for the kids and there’s something fun every weekend (bon fires, live music, ect) we were blown away and if we’re ever in the area, we will be back.
If you have kids, the best part about this park is their bounce pad. Our three year old had something to do at all times, this is a very nice park but the water stinks like no where I've ever been, even with a filter on it leaves your whole camper smelling like eggs. I don't recommend doing laundry here
I have been camping at Rondout Valley since I was a kid, it was always a fun place to go fast forward I ended up with a seasonal site & made some really close friends & at the time the campground had a great manager “Charlie” wish he still ran the place. Fast forward again, returned to Rondout with family & it’s like a nursing home. The current manager Wayne is not a people person, will do everything in his power to remove you from the campground, employees & guests do not like him. He has ruined this campground. I hope thousand trails eventually gets enough negative reviews and removes him, until then we camp elsewhere…
