The park is 29 miles southwest of Warren on U.S. 63; or 23 miles northeast of El Dorado on U.S. 63.
This state park is a great stopping point if you are on a road trip. It has great pads and hookups for rv's. The banks are pretty steep, so fishing may be a bit difficult. There is a fun park for the kids and the facilities are clean.
Beautiful... Beautiful park. The cabins have full fledged facilities. We have a great time here during Christmas time. I wonder how beautiful it would be in fall time!
The park is cute enough, but was flooded (14 ft above normal). We are kayakers, but didn't really want to get out on the flooded waters for safety reasons. We are also hikers, but there's not much of that to do in southern Arkansas, compared to Central and North Arkansas. We are also campers, but with the flooded site we chose to keep heading north before finding a camping spot for the night. That being said, the ranger at the visitor center was so incredibly nice. We had a great conversation with him about the park. Maybe we can visit it again once the waters go down.
Great little bay for day trip. The cabin experience was unique to this area. The bay view and local geocaching was great. Will return in warmer weather.
