We camped on the water with two other families. The campsites are super close (very little privacy) and pretty muddy. It wasnt ideal for tent camping. Luckily one of the three sites was located on the end where we had a little privacy and ended up using that one site for our fire/cooking/hanging out. The bathrooms/showers were really dirty. There were tons of people there. It got a little crowded on the bank during the day. We still had fun, the place just needs some upkeep.
I give this place 5 stars for being absolutely wonderful! Peaceful, beautiful, good fishing, nice cabin and the staff are so kind. The gentleman who runs the place made our stay so much fun helping us with canoe's and great fishing advice, he made accomodations to fit our time schedule. THIS IS A FAMILY PLACE. This is not your spring break party destination and I am thankful to them for keeping it this way. Perfect for us and just what we needed. Be back in 1 month.
We camped with a tent. The sites have plenty of space. Staff was friendly and helpful. Location is great. 15 minutes from any of the reasons you'd probably be in the area.
Great location, very family friendly. There are outside games including horseshoes and tether ball, and a small playground, and indoor games like pool (adult supervision required) board games, and ping pong. Easy access to the creek with stairs from the cabins or you can drive down on the road. There is an open grassy area to move around, and their store packs essentials in case you forget something.
Reasonably priced.
Only downfall is the condition of the restroom/showers. The spiders are definitely at home there and appeared to have been there a while. We tried the outdoor showers near the road to the creek too, the spiders there were more tolerant of our invading their space as they backed up into hiding spaces away from us.
The campground is beautiful! We stayed right by the creek. We had good cell service and a great time! We were able to wade across the creek and get to a magnificent rock wall swim spot and get to one of the many hiking trails near by. Would recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing camping experience. Mountain View is the best little town I've been to! Just call it Mayberry 😄
