i go here every year w family and i love it there’s so much to do and it’s always super fun and i always look forward to each year going
The cottage we are staying at is nice and cozy, and they have a few activities for the kids like a train ride, waking up yogi bear, a arcade, and activities for kids to do at different intervals throughout the day, they also have a general store you can buy a few things from, but if you need Walmart is down the road like 5 minutes away, the staff are super nice and friendly. all in all, I definitely would do this again.
Campgrounds are extremely close together. The roads are extremely narrow and slightly nerve-wracking navigating them with a travel trailer. Pool was ice cold. "Train ride" was a waste. General store is over priced. It is convenient to a lot of attractions in the st louis area. Minimum grass if you are bringing dogs. My kids could not ride their bikes very much because of the big hills. The interstate is next to the campgrounds so not peaceful unless you are inside.
We've come to expect cleanliness, friendly service, and good locations from Jellystone Parks. This park checks those boxes. You will hear the interstate noise day and night but it's not unbearable in a self contained unit. Can't imagine it though in a tent or fold down! There isn't much grass for walking the woofers so be prepared to walk a bit if you have a picky pooch. The sites are close together, but this type of campground is more about a destination and not so much about quiet and relaxing in solitude. The camp store is well stocked with simple items you may forget or suddenly need. The pool looked clean and refreshing. Staff was friendly and a pleasure to chat with. You can get the large campers into the full hookup sites pretty easy. I'm sure it's very busy during prime tourist season. The sunsets are great from the store area looking over the forest valley below! It's a 30 minute drive into downtown St Louis to the arch.
