Very well maintained and beautiful, large grassy lots are some of the first things you'll notice at White Oak Shores. The pool is great and the kids loved the slide. Ken sat in the sweltering heat and helped keep all of the kids safe on the slide. (Thank you, Ken!) He was really friendly and represented the staff well. I do not know the name of the kind young lady checking us in during the afternoon of July 4th, but she was super friendly and helpful. It was clear to me from the very beginning that those who work here care deeply about the experience campers have. You'll see it throughout your stay. We were only here for a few short days but it is a campground to remember and one we'd love to return to. Thank you, White Oak Shores!
Beautiful campground. Our site was right on the water and the sunsets were amazing. Very nice fishing dock. Helpful staff.
First time ever renting a camper and booked this place because i was told it was a really nice place. When looking to see if the sites had water electric and sewer it says it does and then right under that it says tent sites have only water and electricity so I thought we were all set. Boy was I wrong, maybe tent sites is code or something but we did not have sewer. Barely any sites do. They also have no where to dump. So when we were brought our camper on Saturday we stayed one night then had to return it Sunday because they had unknowing brought it to us with the tanks full and we couldn’t dump. I called the office first thing Monday morning to see if there was anything they could do about the rest of our stay but they said no refunds. It’s really disappointing on their part because even though it wasn’t ours nor their fault, it was a very devastating first time for us that I would of thought they would of sympathize for us even a little. We paid for 6 nights and only got to stay one. That was almost a whole week. Make sure to read the fine print on this one because they will tell you in the kindest of voices that there is nothing they can do.
This review is for Thousand Trails members. The is a nice park in a good location. The issue is the Thousand Trails site allocation. This is our third stay at this park, the first time we got a site with a sewer connection, the next two even with 20 or so empty sites with a sewer connections, none was available to Thousand Trails members. I'm a Adventure member with Encore Plus and could not book a site with a sewer connection. I have to brake down, go to one of the empty sites with a connection to dump my tanks, set back up twice a week. You gotta love Thousand Trails cause it can be a real PITA to be a member.
This is my second visit to White Oak Shores RV resort. I was able to secure a reservation at the last minute due to storm damage at my scheduled campground. Dana, Jan and Amber were always pleasant and helpful and were perfect role models for customer service excellence. Jimmy, the campground manager, was heaven sent. He is truly a gift and a light in this sometimes challenging world. I will forevermore be grateful to ALL.
