This is a nice place to stay for a few days. It is not a family campground, most sites are long term living. The facilities are old, there is no play area for kids, no pet area, this in not a Good Sam or KOA. However, the sites they have for short term back up to a creek, there are ducks, the lots are flat, the water, electric and sewer hookups are placed well, and it is mostly grass. There are fireplaces and picnic tables. If you are self contained in a camper and don't need the facilities, it is a great place. The camp is very quiet. There are tent areas on the other side of the creek from the campers. The tent sites were filled for the weekend while we were there. There is a nice pond with a closed waterslide. They had a huge bonfire for all the guests on Saturday night with music and colored lights. The owners are new and they have plans to fix the place up. I hope they do because this is a jewel in the rough.

Hey there! Just wanted to give you a heads up about the campground. So, it's actually going through some renovations at the moment. But, you know, they're taking a bit longer than expected. I mean, it happens, right? Don't worry though, the reviews from a year ago did mention this, so it's not a surprise.

Now, let me tell you about the creek. It's actually pretty delightful! I mean, picture-perfect, you know? Although, it could use a little rain to freshen up a bit. It's looking a tad dried up, to be honest. But hey, nature does its thing, you know?

Now, here's something interesting. It would be super cool if campers didn't blow leaves into the creek. I mean, come on, let's keep it clean, folks! Just a little something to keep in mind.

On a brighter note, the lady in charge of the campground is an absolute gem. She's super pleasant and always ready to help. You can count on her for anything, really.

But hey, I gotta mention this. Her nephew, well, he can be a bit disrespectful at times. Yeah, he's not the most polite kid around. Just thought you should know. But overall, it's a friendly place. Enjoy your time there!

We were initially a little nervous on arrival.

It's an interesting place..

Cons:

The campground is much more run down than the pictures indicate, but you can tell it is in the process of renovation. Mostly long term or permanent sites with just a few short term sites. Bathhouse is seasonal only.(closed during our visit which we did not know when booking). The trip across the bridge with our camper was a little nerve racking.

No gravel so after lots of rain we were surrounded by mud puddle when stepping out of the camper. Steep entrance/exit.

No one on-site for check-in:have to call and wait for arrival of an employee to take our payment(cash or check only)

Pros:

We chose to stay and were pleasantly surprised at the quietness. Most of the campers are empty or are laborers who are gone all day and only come to sleep. I felt safe. It's close to Danbury and Walnut Cove.

Cute stream with ducks who love to be fed and a fishing pond. Good cell signal. Price can't be beat in the area. Owners were so friendly.

I hope they continue to renovate. This could be an amazing park. I would stay again if in the area.
